Thanks Judy, yes it was just lovely, I was becoming so frustrated with the whole bread 'failure'.  While on the subject, does bread dough freeze successfully?  I assume that you would allow it to prove the 1st  time before freezing!!!- any advice would be wonderful.  :)  :D

Hey Maddy,

Just wanted to pass on a big thank you from my husband for your recipe.  We made these on the weekend and they turned out better than the shop bought ones.  So good to know exactly what went in to them.

I made these today. Forgot to set the timer on the oven, so burnt to a crisp - but the best part ??? - totally forgot to add the bacon & cheese!!!!!!!!!!!!!  ;D  ;D  ;D What an idiot I am. Was so annoyed with myself & then just cracked up laughing.

Ended up cutting off the top & then adding the bacon & cheese & sticking them under the grill. But the damage was done already - so burnt & hard as a rock  ;D

Will not give up though!!!! Try again tomorrow.

We do seem to have days like that salval but at least you had a good laugh.  Be proud of yourself, you are the only one who has had a failure with this recipe (or is game enough to say so)  ;D ;D ;D  Next lot will be perfect.

Made these again for the 3rd time and as usual they are so yummy (I use half white half wholemeal). I have made them as plain rolls without cheese and bacon and also put a Tbs of Chia seeds in the mixture. A great recipe.

Just want to echo everyone's thanks too Maddy.  I have made these twice this weekend and they are GREAT  ;D!  DH can't wait to take some to work for lunch this week.  DH: "They're just like REAL bakery ones" !!!  hahaha

I usually make a double batch Maddy and they freeze really well. My boys love them for school lunches

These are fantastic-I was actually coming back to get the recipe to make another batch and realised I hadn't said thanks for posting to Maddy!

I second (or third?) the freezing comments-they are fantastic after a quick warm up.  I made up a big batch and pull them out for lunches with some fruit. 

Didn't take a picture (but hopefully will next time)-the local bakery sells spinach and feta parcels so I cooked up some spinach with garlic, added some feta and mixed it together on sp 5 before making the dough.  Then pressed out squares of the dough, dolloped on a big spoonful of the mixture, pinched the corners up to contain it and YUMMO!  DD1 gobbled down 3 before I cut off her supply.  Oh, and they froze well too.

If there is interest I can post more detail next time I make them but I just love this recipe.  Thanks heaps Maddy!
