My DH says you need special formula.

Denkavite is a milk powder for lambs and cows.

Just got this off google: The baby alpaca is called a Cria, a female is called a Hembre, a male a Macho and a twelve month old Alpaca ia called a Tui.  :)

Here is a picture of one of the 8 we hand reared this year. I do try to set on spare lambs to other ewes, but this year was not so good. Last year I had no pets at all. Usually we sell them as pets but had no takers this year.

We teach them to help themselves to adlib cold milk for minimum of  6 weeks as long as they eat enough creep.
Hay is important too, to make the rumen start to work properly.
All out at grass now, and will be treated as rest of lambs.
Some kept for breeding, some sold for meat.
Just one of the costs of having sheep.

I didn't know about a cria either.
