Greetings from another newbie
« on: June 22, 2012, 08:43:26 am »
Hi all!

I'm Be and I hail from the NSW Central Coast. My Thermomix was delivered two days ago and was immediately christened Alice, she is beautiful  ;D

I am  baker at heart so of course the first thing I made in Alice was the chocolate cake and we used the Nutella recipe as icing! Yum! My 3 year old is very impressed.

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone, learning and sharing.

Hi Be, welcome to the forum.  Love the fact you chose a cake to make first and that Miss 3 was so impressed.  It sounds as if you and her will have a great time working together with the TMX.

Hi Be. Yoou are in for lots of baking fun with your TMX. I prefer baking to any other kind of cooking too.

Actually no, though it did occur to me afterwards that I could say that  :D

Her full name is Alice B Toklas, who was a women that wrote an amazing cookbook back int he 40's. She lived with the writer Gertrude Stein and was friends with all the famous writers and artists in Paris from about 1910 onwards. The book describes the food they cooked and how they lived, the part during the German occupation was very interesting, it's one of my favourite books.
