Had them for dinner last night, with a few other bits and pieces of course. They were lovely. I wonder if you could do half carrot and half broccoli or cauliflower to impress guests, or would it end up a big grey slurry of steamed vegies?

I've been out and bought the ingredients I didn't have for this bread and am looking forward to making it. Will keep you posted.

I use the Lowan dried yeast and keep it in the freezer and it lasts really well. Although since the birth of "Termite" I have been using a lot more. I tend to use 2 teaspoons for a packet of yeast and it seems to work well without leaving a yeasty flavour which can be a problem. Bought my bread tin yesterday so will be making more 5 Seed Bread today. Alos hope to call at Loose Produce and buy lots more seeds and things, it's the only place I can buy rye seed unfortunately and I love rye bread.

I used cream this time but I think I'll use skinny tinny next time. A little less calories.

My mix was very wet. As ILB said there was no way you could have shaped it. We really liked it so won't make any alterations to it. I think it will bake better in a bread tin though.

I have a giggle everytime I see this on the 'home page'. It says Breakfast. Re CarolineW's husband....... I have this vision of CarolineW's husband being consumed in hundreds of homes for breakfast. Sorry-my sick sense of humour. Do forgive me CarolineW.

Ooh how did I miss these? They are on the menu for tonight. May even make them when I can drag myself away from this site.

My "Termite" was used to make dip, chop heaps of vegies for our crustless quiche, make a batch of chocolate and almond cookies (they were a bit dry) make heaps of icing sugar for the cupcakes I made and grind almonds for the macaroons I made. Oh and the varoma'd vegies for tea.
How did I exist before this machine arrived, it sure makes life easier.

I do the meat part of the spag bog on the stove and the pasta in the TMX.
I try to make as much as I can in the TMX but I still make my cakes the old way. Biscuits are made in the TMX. I still use my slow cooker for those types of meals too. I'm now using the varoma for most vegies and dumplings and chicken with sauces etc. In fact I used a saucepan last night and thought 'gee it's ages since I used one of these.' I still use my Easy Cook for roasts too. Despite this the TMX still seems to get used twice a day on average.

I wonder if an apple liquer would do? I guess it would be ok. I bought some in Burra last year at the apple cidery place and haven't even opened it yet! (Too busy eating stuff I bought at Maggie Beers and Beerenburg, not to mention Seppeltsfield). Let us know how it goes Judy. My family aren't too fond of pear things.

I made Bacon, leek and tomato risotto. I only made enough for the 3 of us, although it may feed 4 small eaters. (we're hungry folks).
Bacon, Leek and Tomato Risotto
3 cups water 3 good teaspoons vegie stock 3 rashers of bacon 1 leek 1 clove garlic 200g arborio rice 1/4 cup white wine (I used verjuice) 125g small cherry tomatoes, halved 45g olive 1/4 cup parmesan
Grate the parmesan for 3 seconds on speed 9. Place garlic clove into TM bowl and chop for 5 seconds on speed 7(added by Thermomixer - may not be right!) Chop white part of leek and place in the bowl with the garlic and sliced bacon and oil. 2 minutes, 100o speed 1. Add rice and wine. Cook 2 minutes at 100o reverse speed soft. Add stock and water, cook for 7 minutes 100oReverse, speed soft. Add the halved tomatoes and cook a further 10 minutes as above. Place in thermoserver, stir through the parmesan and let sit for 5 minutes.

Wow, even 'The Australian' has Thermomix in it. The recipe looks fun, might convince the family they need to try something with pears in.
