Chit Chat / Re: Your fave pizza toppings?

My fave is smoked salmon, bocconcini and spanish onion, with a little pizza sauce under the smoked salmon.

My sister does a beautiful potato and caramelised onion one too.

thanks everyone!!

thanks Jules!!

I'd love some tips on the pastry too -  not so much the mixing it, but the blind baking of it.

The EDC is a bit bereft of instructions other than you cook it at 200 degrees...

Chit Chat / Thermoserver - what is commercially available?

Hi everyone,

I am still loving my tmx SOOOO much!!

One of my friends just purchased one from my varoma demo... she has asked me if there is something like a thermoserver that she can just buy - - - she it not having her delivery demo for quite a while and is busting for something like it!

I know I have seen something on here about what's on the market (I am in Melbourne).... but just can't find it.

I have the tupperware herb/spice canisters and they are sensational.  I've had them a few years and they were expensive, but they are well worth it.  They have two flip top openings, one for pouring for large quantities of spice and one that you use more as a shaker.

I have two sizes - - but I can't for the life of me see what volume they hold.  But I can highly recommend them.  I'd guess .... well actually I have just grabbed an empty one and filled it with water and weighed it in my thermobaby...the large one holds 250ml of water.  I'd guess the smaller one holds half that.

Not sure what quantities you are thinking of making, but if you're making masses, probably a large tupperware bowl would do the trick.

And, no, I'm not a tupperware consultant!!  But I do love their stuff!!

Chit Chat / Loving my thermobaby!

Hi Everyone

I've had my TM (or the thermobaby as my friends call it) for 2 weeks and I am loving it!!

There are two adults and a 15 month old in my household and I can't believe the way it has revolutionised what I cook and how I cook.  Before the TM arrived we relied on a lot of pre-prepared food and we were the masters of reheating.  That has all changed since we got the TM - - - every night bar one where we had sushi takeaway, I have made something for dinner - - - no small feat with a 15 month old under your feet!!

So far I've done a few risottos (one mushroom, one mushroom and leek, tonight speck and spinach), beef stroganoff, the pasta with tuna from the EDC, pizza dough, cooked rice (incidentally the BEST rice I have ever had or made) , a few sorbets, a coleslaw, hommous, mashed potato and all of my sons meals.

As a food lover, but not a cook by any stretch, I can honestly say that I have been excited looking through recipes every day to see what I can make for dinner that night.

Thanks for the tips and tricks and for the recipes !!

Hi Gabby,

Welcome!!  I bet that your TMX's arrive at the same time - so I'll look forward to hearing how you go!!  I went to the supermarket yesterday and bought loads of stuff that I know I can use with the TMX, so I know exactly what your DH means!!!

Good luck!!!

Hi Again,

See - I am a thermomix addict now!!

I'd LOVE the recipe for the Beef Stroganoff - - - DH buys it ready made from the butcher every week and it costs $17 for a medium container - I think it's 1 litre.  I'd love to be able to do one and show him just how easy and how much cheaper it can be!!!  Can you tell me where you found it?

Hi everyone,

I have just ordered my TM today after seeing a demo about a month ago.  I have googled TM more times than I care to admit, and I've been a bit obsessed since I saw it!

I have a 15 month old son and I am really looking forward to him eating what we eat - without me worrying about additives and all the other nasties.

I had to nag (well, that's a strong word) my other half about it for a while until he relented - he hasn't seen it in action, but I know he'll love it once we get it.

Has anyone got any knock your socks off recipes that they can suggest for my first TM meal???   I'm planning on a sorbet for dessert, just wanted some ideas for a main that will be easy and show off the TM to its best advantage!!

Can't wait to tell you all what he thinks - - - - the wait for the TM is going to kill me though!!! ;)
