Hi! I am a Canadian from Toronto. I never heard about a Thermomix till one month ago, when I went to Australia for my son's wedding. My new daughter-in-law had a Thermomix for 2 years before she met my son this year. She is an awesome cook, and we enjoyed many meals made in the TMX.( I never saw HOW she did it). When I returned to Canada, I found a demonstration, and bought a TMX a week later (June 9/2012). I am so excited - used the Varoma tonight for the first time. I am looking forward to meeting other TMX users, as I don't know any in Canada. I am mainly interested in the TMX as I make most of my meals from scratch as I need GLUTEN FREE food. I can't wait to see what I can "cook up" in the TMX!!!

Hello quiltchic, welcome to the forum. Hope you enjoyed your visit 'down under' recently and are able to do it all again another time. Your new DIL must have really impressed you with her cooking for you to rush home and order the TMX for yourself. Cecilia's link is to the most wonderful blog by Helene, a very passionate TMX owner, you'll enjoy your time on there and on our forum as well. We are nice chatty, friendly group of TMX obsessed people. Is your DIL a member of our forum too?
-
Yes, my DIL is the one who told me about the TMX forum - she is from Thailand where her family had a restaurant when she was growing up. She seems like an experienced chef, and I guess when she saw the TMX on an Aussie tv show (Masterchef Australia?) she had to have one. She says she has never regretted buying one, and madde wonderful glutenfree meals for me (I just met her in Australia 2 weeks before the wedding in May 2012). My son is very lucky to have found such a wonderful wife on the other side of the world! And I found a great DIL and the TMX as well!!

:D hello, wow people are from everywhere in here! have you got yours yet? what have you cooked
-
;) Yes I got it on June 9. Last night I made herbed rice, mixed veggies and Thai spiced Mahi Mahi in the Varoma, then made "strawberry sorbet" (frozed strawberries and a banana) for dessert. Looking for lots of recipes as I don't have Everyday Cooking yet (did not come with my machine in Canada). Looking forward to being part of the group! ;)

Hi Quiltchic,
I also just got my thermomix today and had a wonderful afternoon cooking. Haven't used the Varoma yet and very interested to know what you cooked? I too only heard about this amazing machine a month ago as one of my daughters friends had a demo. I went along and was instantly hooked. Hosted a demo at my home on Sunday, ordered my Thermomix and had it delivered today. Loving it!!! So versatile and a great way of cooking that avoids all the nasties in commercially prepared foods.
Good Luck and Happy Cooking. :)
