Judy, I am not sure that there is still a strict seven day isolation rule, but we are always aware that we have a responsibility to our customers and colleagues when it comes to COVID, hence our stay away from work policy. To be honest, those of us who have had COVID recently haven't been feeling enthusiastic about going in to work anyway. I spoke to my GP earlier this afternoon and she said that although I am still showing a positive RAT, it should be OK so long as I mask up, some people just take longer than others to go negative I guess. So, I am now planning on heading back down to Melbourne tomorrow (with soggy washing in my bag!).

Today is day 10 of my COVID isolation and I am bored senseless - I have decided I am going to go home today, unless DH is seriously opposed to that (keeping in mind that I will have to interact with our staff to some extent - if only to pass through the shop to get to the stairs upstairs). We have a strict stay away policy if you have a positive RAT so that may be the deciding factor as to whether I head home or not. I have also run out of clean clothes so if I don't go home I will have to do a load of washing and I don't fancy my chances of any of it drying any time soon.

Tat sounds positive, Mab.
Still isolating with COVID (I have been exiled to Guildford) - it's not as bad as I was afraid of, I am still miserable, but it just feels like a really horrible head / chest cold.

Oh Mab, that's terrible. Hope it heals up soon. I once sliced off a wee bit of one of my fingers and the skin has grown back, but there is no feeling in it.
When you sorted the slicer out, did you find it worked OK? I was thinking of possibly getting one, but I am not sure that it is worth it.

Huge pot of vege stew then made a pot of mashed veges with those that I couldn't fit into the stew pot and used the broth off the mashed veges to go into a mushroom tetrazzini.

Still living a fairly sedentary life - I would love to get out into the garden to get started on ripping out all the new season's weeds, but my physio has told me I am only (theoretically) permitted 2 x 5 minute walks a day (and I am not meant to run them together!) I am trying to be good, but very hard, especially when I am cooking! I am allowed to slowly build up to more minutes. I really didn't believe the literature when they said that it is a 12 month recovery following this operation - I am beginning to believe that now.

Roast lamb and vegetables for the men. Probably a bottle of Ensure for me as I'm not very hungry.
Your system has certainly taken a battering recently, Mab, so it's not surprising you are not very hungry at the moment. With luck it will come back soon and you can start settling down again into your normal routine - be sure you give yourself a couple of special treats, too.

What a horrible reaction, Mab. I think that has got a lot of us thinking about the infusion. With luck, it is simply a reaction that will never be repeated.
Judy, I don't know a lot about FODMAP but I do know that Quirky Jo is (or was) heavily into it so a browse on her blog / web site could be interesting for you.

I had my first infusion for osteoporosis today.
I would also be interested in hearing how this went. Fortunately, at this stage, I am nowhere near needing this treatment but got a bit of a surprise last when my surgeon said I was a scary patient because my bones were soft. I didn't think they were as my bone scans over the years have not been a concern.

Hi Cecilia, hope it isn't too cold in Tassie for you.
It's great when someone reminds us of one of the fantastic recipes on this forum. There are so many to choose from that it can be over-whelming. Thanks for reminding us of this recipe Sue. am thinking I will buy some gnocchi and make this to go with them.

This may help with unwanted ads. This is specific to my settings - I am on Android using Firefox.
Open Settings and you will see (probably down the bottom of the screen) "Extensions and Themes" and you should be able enable uBlock Origin. Works for me, hope it does for those of you who have a similar set up as I do.

Are you itching to get back to cooking Marina? I’m making steak and mushroom pies for dinner tonight. We will sit down with them and tomato sauce and watch our footy team be badly beaten. 😀😀😀😀😀 It will still be fun.
I am absolutely desperate to get back cooking, Cookie. The kitchen here in the city is lovely, but it hasn't got much space and just isn't geared up for much variety or cooking.

That's a relief, Cookie, you will be pleased about that. Your new motor home can't be far away now ... do you have a delivery date?

Corn chowder and creamy vegetables with pasta.
I am not doing much cooking at home yet, just very simple things. I am not sure if I totally trust my balance and strength with handling hot food yet but I hope to be given the OK to drive again when I see my surgeon next week so I can re-start my weekly routine of getting away to our home in the country at the weekends and a fully stocked kitchen pantry
