Chit Chat / Re: Chooks :)

I have an Isa brown who lays everyday, a frizzle and 2 new baby leghorns.m I've lost several sillies to disease but they were gorgeous!! My frizzle sits on my lap for cuddles and the two babies follow my very confused poodle around!  The cat ios loftily indifferent!
The Isa free ranges during the day and truthfully has demolished many vegetables!  The 3 smaller ones are in the tractor most of the day but let out when we are in yard.  I've lost one chicken to a dog and one baby taken by crows we think.
They really are my babies!  They are very therapeutic and to me make the house a home!!   ;D

Thanks all oxoxox.
Sadly it was my second and it took me forever and much persuading by him to agree ...
I am going to be okay   - good to be back and he never liked eating so probably shouldn't have trusted him to begin with ! :o

Bread / Bread "bowl"

Hi all, long time no post.  Had a rough few months but all good -
I wanted to make some soup tonight and was thinking of making those bread rolls that are the"scooped" and used as bowls.

I had a recipe in a thermomix calendar but lost it in the clean out after the ex moved out.
Any ideas?!

I have it down pat,

Tablespoon dried yeast
Teaspoon sugar
3/4 cup tepid water
Mix 5 secs on speed 5 and let it sit for a w moments

2 eggs - the best quality you can - I use my chooks eggs which give it a gorgeous yellow
3 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons light olive oil

Mix 15 second on speed 5

3 cups bakers flour
1 teaspoon salt

Kneed for approximately 2 minutes

Put in bread mat and let it rise for about 30-4o minutes

Punch down and let rise again

Punch and shape

Brush with egg wash and put in cold oven and let rise while oven heats - put a bowl of cold water on bottom of oven to obtain crusty exterior

I am an incessant fiddler and always trying new ways!  I added a lemon to this and didnt like the result.  Today I added some rum type of essence and some shredded coconut and it is a nice change although the original is perfection! ;D
