I will eat the pantry first . I will eat the pantry first. I will eat the pantry first.

Just removed two things from my freezer and not putting anything in until it is empty except for the few bits of this and that like duck fat which I no doubt should toss but..........

My supermarket was renovated last year Gert and I still don't know my way around it fully. I had become so used to rushing in and rushing out again because of the limited time I had to do my shopping when Geoff was home and even now when I could slow down and have a good browse, I have a list and that's all I look for unlike previously when I always went via the meat aisle.  My pantry is going down, I'm working on the freezer and I will get there.  It's hard though when 1 pork fillet produces 4 meals for 1 person - I prefer more vegies on my plate to meat so it means I can stretch the meat so that I probably only need to thaw 2 pieces a week. Rather than freeze leftovers these days I tend to eat the same thing until it's all gone and I also share it with Mum too.

I've just defrosted the stand alone freezer - I still have enough meat or cooked meals for 60 meals in there and the small freezer plus I have 1 drawer full of fruit pieces.  Think I'll have to start having fruit smoothies for breakfast  :-))  Only threw out 1 pack of ham bones from the large freezer.

1 to go and that's the fridge freezer where I keep all my bits and pieces and frozen vegies.  I might be able to cull a bit from there.

You better  start eating Judy or call the women's shelter to come and get it.

Judy, maybe you could host a freezer party. Invite as many guests as you can and defrost all your frozen meals to serve as a smorgasbord.  :D

They aren't all cooked meals Michele, it's mainly meat and I calculated how many meals I would get from my stock.  I only have about 8 ready cooked meals.

Gert

This is exactly what I should be saying.  I can't fit anything in to any of my freezers at the moment and it's a pain in the *.
I really need to do start making stuff with what's in there to reduce it down some before I contemplate buying new stuff for recipes that "I just have to make!"  :-\

I've just taken a 1.5kg pack of chicken marylands out of the freezer to defrost for tomorrow nights dinner and then DH can take the leftovers to work for dinner. My freezer isn't too bad apart from all the bacon. Don't know why we have so much bacon? I have 14 packets with about 8 rashers in each pack.  ???
