Found this website http://120dollarsfoodchallenge.com/recipes/

Have you seen it?
Looks very good and interesting.

Had to buy butter in sainsburys, Aldi too far from where I was. 20 pence difference that is 20% more on 250g butter!

I'm pleased that I'm back on track - DH insisted that we up our budget to $120 as that includes everything not just groceries. It's our meat, shampoo, washing powder etc. We had a few hard weeks when I couldn't stay within $100. I'm hoping the extra $20 a week will cover the non food items. This week I'm under at $115.07. I do have the advantage of being able to buy super cheap meat from DS who is a butcher.  :)

I've definitely fallen off the wagon lately, had to re-stock after being away after christmas. I think my bill this week is around $150! I did spend over $40 on meat which I've mostly turned into meals for the freezer. Now I just need to get back into menu planning and use up all those meals I have in the freezer instead of cooking something new.

My fridge died yesterday, so thankfully we have 3.
No cooking here, or groceries for another week.

How awful Robyn. Did you lose any food, or did you have space in your other fridges?
I'm pleased that I came in under budget last week at $122. However, this week I've already spent  $90 at the supermarket and I'm yet to go to the market. I did buy 4L of oil and a heap of half price nuts, oh, and the Iced Vovo magazine;)

I'm on track for my first $0 spend for 2013 - only have to get through tomorrow and I don't see a problem being able to do that.

Update - made it ;D

no loss of food, we have 3 fridges, 3 freezers.

Just complained to get it fixed under warranty, for parts and labour.

They wanted me to pay labour.....

That is another goal for 2013 - a no spend week - we always seem to need/want something - milk only ever lasts us a week.
