If you put a tin of drained lentils in meatloaf mixture, lasagne, rissoles or spag bol it goes that bit further and no one knows its there.

I add rolled oats to some things to soak up any liquid. Great In Meatloaf

Shopping so far comes to $107. That includes a box of fruit & veg from Aussie farmers for $26, first time I've used them for F & V, looks good so far but now I have too much broccoli & carrots!
Also splurged on snapper fillets - 2 small ones for $13, not really enough for the 3 of us but I'll give the kids most of the fish & I'll fill up on the veg.
Wish fish wasn't so expensive, the kids love it!

You could make a vegie slice out of the excess carrots and broccoli and then freeze it.

I find this one a quick and easy method and it can be made into muffins as well. It freezes well too.

£12.37 at Co op. orange squash and clementines on offer, same price as Aldi.
6 eggs as run out ( cost 1.85 for 6) Aldi £1.15 for 10.
2 bananas, golden syrup ( not sold at Aldi)
3 pork steaks ( very thin slices) had for supper last night pan fried with caramelised onions mixed with leftover sour cream from fajitas and grainy mustard.
Bottle of lemon juice for recipes.
Can't remember what else.
Will have to do Aldi tomorrow when know if DH is home of not next week.

Thanks H for this thread.

Its good DJ once you get into it

After seeing how much I had in the pantry, going to make an effort by using at least 3 items in the pantry each week  not replacing.
Today cp had the satay 2 minute noodles for afternoon tea. Will try & use at least 3 things next week. Tacos is on the menu, my boxes dont contain the shells,  we ate them but do contain the seasoning & sauce as I make my own & just use the shells, but will start using them up. Tacos monday :)

Have to do my menu plan :)

We have all ben slack with our plans of late, so lets try again :)
