I have bought the "Living Cookbook" software by Radium Technologies. I will not manage without it. It is great to collect recipes change them and also add your own notes. In addition, it gives you cost, nutrition, shopping and menus and so much more information. If you really want to use it to its full benefit, you need to imput a lot of information initially but once you get it going, you will not live without it.

If I need a recipe, I print it from the programme, use the recipe and even throw the printed recipe away once I complete it. I have a special folder withing Living Cookbook which I call Thermomix.Any recipe involving Thermomix is filed in there. I even subdivide the folder into separate section, soups, entrees, desserts etc.  No big bulky files, no cookbooks.

I use living cookbook software and find it very very convenient and easy to use. I have set the default costing in euro. Most of the time I use metric as most of my reciipes are metric and so is my thermomix. I have a special cookbook for thermomix and every recipe I find using thermomix I copy and paste under the capture and I not only get nutritional values but costs as well.

It does start off as laborious having to enter the cost of each ingredient but I really enjoyed doing this as once you start using the recipes with your "true" ingredients, it is an eye opener as to the cost of the ingredients.

I had to delete loads and loads of ingredients from the database to start with as well because most of the stuff and brand names do not exist in my country. But I started including all my ingredients and also the pictures of the ingredients so I can recognize them easitly

I would recommend this software to anyone.

Yes they are. I use them as part of the ingredients to work out the cost of the finished product. I have a software programme which works out the cost of a recipe and also the price of each serving. This helps me work out the charging price to customers.

Recipe Requests / Converting a recipe for TM31

I am very very new to this and have tried using the TM to make Nigella Lawson cookies. I use this recipe all the time using my Kenwood Chef but would love to use the TM to make the pastry. Can you help? I think I am confused because it asks for creaming the butter and sugar together and then add the flour and eggs.

this is the recipe

Nigella Lawson's cookie recipe

350 grms unsalted butter
400 gms caster sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 large eggs
800 gms plain flour
40 Celophane bags

Beat the butter, sugar and vanilla extract using the Kenwood with K beater till white and creamy.
Beat the eggs in a separate bowl. Add the eggs and the flour to the creamed mixture. Bind together to get a smooth dough. Leave in the fridge for about an hour. Roll out the dough on a floured surface. Cut out the cookies and place on a greased baking sheet. Bake in the oven at 160°C for 15 minutes or until the edges turn light brown. Leave to cool before lifting off the baking tray.

Introduce Yourself / Hi from Gozo, Malta

Well now you will also find a Themomix in the little island of Gozo.
Up to 2 weeks ago I never heard of it. I attended a chocolate course where the Thermomix was being used. I wanted it straight away. Luckily one of the girls was the demonstrator and was able to arrange for one of the Thermomix to be sent over.
I am still playing with it and have not looked at it seriously but I hope to use it all the time if I can.
I have joined this forum to get a better idea of recipes and how to use the machine better.
