just made a dairy free, gluten free version of the apple tea cake, yum

I made two apple tea cakes today Karen.  One without sugar (duh!!!) and one with!!!  I wouldn't recommend it without sugar.  ;D ;D ;D

LOL

i also made the choc version but forgot how much cocoa i put in last time and put twice as much - but dh said it's still yummy. and once again i had to force the kids to stop eating them. I think i might have to try doubling the recipe and see if it will fit lol

I made Tenina's Cranberry Toasted Muesli this morning - mmmmm, yum!
I had a slight problem with the dates in it.  She said to chop for 8-10 seconds on speed 9 - resulting in puree.
I tried another batch at 5 seconds, speed 7 - still puree.  Then I ran out of dates and used sultanas instead.
Anyone have any ideas on how I can use up 300gm of date puree? ;)

This morning I needed a quick batch of chicken soup to help get me over another bout of flu so I knocked that up (have posted it in the soup thread) then made 3 batches of the BHG ginger/lemon/honey drink - so I am right for the next few days whilst I try and shake this problem once and for all. Whilst I was making the flu remedies inside, the weber was cooking a nice chicken roast lunch for me outside then I steamed some vegies and I'm done for the day. My bed awaits me.

Get well soon - lots of BHG, chicken soup and TLC and you'll be back on board.  :-* :-*

Thanks guys, I'm certainly working on it - have to be OK by Friday as we have booked a nice hotel in Adelaide for 2 nights for our wedding anniversary and I'd hate to have to cancel it.

Hi JD,
I hope you are feeling better soon.  I have just recovered from a flu myself, so I know how you feel.  Having just read one of Cyndi O'Meara's books I decided to follow her sickness plan.  I think it helped me to shake it off quickly.  It was basically lots of rest and fruit for breakfast, rice salad for lunch and barley and vegie soup for dinner (following this for at least 3 days).  I still needed a few panadols (unlike Cyndi  :)), but I'm sure the good food helped me along.

Went to a picnic this weekend, so I made Chicken Paté, Vegetable Paté, Carrot-Roquefort Balls, and non-thermomix marinated cucumber salad. Now I am getting ready for a road trip, so I made Gluten Free Russian Teacakes and Brazen's Cheddar Shortbread (using some Amish Cheese that a friend of mine aged for about 10 months, YUM). Also mixed up a gluten free pie crust to make a celery-stilton quiche.
