Hi both Sharyns and welcome to the forum.  I think we all put on weight intially when we first got our TMXs (maybe we should call it TMX waistline or TMX syndrome, perhaps).  After a while you learn to behave yourself, but what a brilliant journey it is until then.  Afterwards, when you settle down life is simply a ball.  So many of us were not 'into' cooking pre-TMX days but that little machine has transformed our lives - as it will yours.

Enjoy and have fun.

Isn't that what they call a "Eureka" moment - it seems so obvious but you just never thought of it then, suddenly, WOW .... and it all falls into place.

Well done Nay-Nay - congratulations on your invention - do we get to see the recipe or was it all such an accident you will not be able to replicate it?

Ah, yes, I always get my timing wrong for the other side of the world.  Thanks, Frozzie.

This is a really nice recipe, Denzelmum, you should give it a try.  So long as the eggplant is properly cooked all the way through, it is really nice, it is only when the eggplant is partially cooked (the eggplant, I mean) that it doesn't taste so good.

Would it help if you called it Aubergine?

This looks really interesting.  Does it really have ground coriander in it?  How do you think nutmeg or cardamom would  go in it?

I didn't really make these today, so this is a cheat, but worth a chuckle.

I made Debetha's Lemon Melt Cookies at the weekend and, really, I SHOULD HAVE READ THE RECIPE.

I didn't have enough caster sugar so made my own, but lost concentration and ended up with icing sugar, so used that.

I added the SR flour, only to discover that I was short by approx. 110 g, so thought, better make some more SR flour, only to find I had grabbed the jar of plain flour from the larder and put that into the TMX bowl in error and my (nearly full) jar of SR was still sitting happily on its shelf in the larder.  Oh well, what the heck, I decided to put approx. 130 g of SR into the TMX mixture -  just to make up for the shortfall.

Got to the part where you mixed it all up to make a dough and that wasn't working either (surprise, surprise!), so squeezed some lemon juice and a bit of water into the jug, just for kicks and, sure enough, I had a dough.

Put the lot into the oven wondering what on earth I was going to end up with after 15 minutes and they were pretty good, so it wasn't a total failure, but I must remember to check my ingredients properly in future.

He sounds so serious about what he is doing - I just hope he doesn't lose everything in his endeavours to "re-invent the wheel".

Condiments and Sauces / Re: Curry in a hurry

So sorry to hear about your hand.  If it helps, there is a product you can get fairly freely from most chemists called "Op Site" (it also has other names, but explain to the chemist what you want and you should be fine) it's a clear waterproof wound cover - almost like a second skin and is really good.  You can fully immerse your wound in water and the wound will stay dry and protected - be sure you use a largish size, though, as it needs a good area to adhere to without springing any leaks!

Take care and good luck.

PS.   Seeing as we are on a curry thread - watch those chillis!!!!!

How exciting - at last it's (nearly) home, where it belongs.  Have a great time and enjoy your TMX adventure.  Let us know how it all goes and what you decided to cook for DH's work picnic - those raspberry brownies that have been on the forum the last day or two sound like a good option?  :D

Chit Chat / Re: Scones for DW - Thermomixer's Nay-Nay recipe

I made scones (pre TMX days) once using lemonade but found that the lemonade flavour was too strong, Nay Nay's recipe worked better for me.

I was mulling this query over last night as well, CP63, and came to the same conclusion and provisos as you.  In fact, I would think Vorwerk would be delighted to get as many recipes and recipe books published as possible, after all, it is to their benefit in the long run.
