They have just announced the above class at Regency Park 15th September 6.30 - 8.30 $20 with Cyndi O'Meara as special guest. I know she has appeared in other states at your cooking classes - how did you all enjoy it and is it worth going to? Be interested to read your comments.

Wow, 5 reviews now for this recipe - this is more like how this forum should be. Reviews have been sadly lacking from posted recipes and Virgosandra should be very pleased with herself for coming up with this one.

Ive tried doing a curry using shin beef.....but even cooking it for a long time on a slow temperature the beef is so tough, so ive resorted to putting in a casserole dish in the oven to try and soften it up! one thing i just dont think the thermo is any good for is cooking tougher cuts of meat - unless anyone has any suggestions
I have cooked ribs in a roasting bag in the varoma, 2 hours. They were delicious, very tender. Can you get roasting bags there, or are they just a Spanish thing?
Yes, we do have roasting bags here in Australia Bron.

I also find that when I blitz my vegie scraps, eggshells etc at the end of the day for the compost heap that this helps to actually clean the bowl from the last thing I cooked.

As talk this morning centred around the Full Steam Ahead cookbook, I decided to try a couple of vegie ideas to go with tea tonight. Made the broccoli terrine and steamed some carrot and zucchini ribbons to go with a pork fillet with a port and prune sauce. Had to do some prep work and keep things warm whilst I was cooking the potatoes, meat and sauce - was it worth all the effort? No, I don't think so. DH liked the broccoli terrine (I'd call them timbales as they were made in individual pots) but it all took too long and I was over it by the time it was served. The sauce wasn't bad - I converted it from SFI.

Amanda, with all the talk about brownies on the forum today, I checked my file and pulled yours out. They were delicious and I dressed them up for dessert tonight by sprinkling with icing sugar and serving with a dollop of cream and a fanned strawberry. Looked very impressive and would do for any dinner party dessert with so little effort.
