Oh dear, have just made the pork mignon, and it was not a success! Must have been my improvisation of english mustard, I added wholegrain nutty mustard instead! They are eating it, bless them, but won't be repeating today! I bought the vermouth, and apart from the mustard every thing else I did the same as the recipe. Oh can only get white normal mushrooms. The meat wasn't cooked properly after 15 mins, nor after 20, so it was 25 mins. The pork was quite chewy, maybe it was because it wasn't thin enough. Not too sure what I have done wrong! Shame! Was really looking forward it!!!

Last night at the grocery store I almost picked up the wholegrain mustard because I couldn't find the hot mustard, but I finally found it in another section of the store. Did the sauce taste terrible too??

I have just made a batch of chocolate mousse for dessert tonight.
Tastes yummy, but I worry about uncooked eggs.

Judy my oven is an Omega and it has a fan on all the time and then when you want fan forced it boosts up the speed of the fan. It blows  air out of the top of the oven. I queried it and was told it was normal. It's 5 years old in July.

Yesterday I made Tenina's Turkish bread from her steam cooking site-really nice. I then made some vegie soup using all the tired vegies from the fridge with a potato, onion and 3/4 cup red lentils and then had the Caramel Chomeur from the Thermomix site but I fooled around with that recipe rather a lot and made it into an even cheaper sweets similar to one Mum used to make when we were kids, called Brown Sugar pudding.

Thanks for that Cookie1, maybe it is normal then   The forum was quiet today so I got stuck into tidying up the pantry and other cupboards.  I found an oven temperature gadget so now I can check the temperature next time I am doing cookies or whatever.

Tonight I made the Italian shepherds pie for dinner and the lemon pudding surprise cake (from the UK thermomix recipe website) followed for dessert.  We needed winter warmer comfort food after a big couple of days at Cradle Mountain (stunning, but no snow  ).

This morning I made up a batch of soy milk, then coffee's using Joy's site. At lunch time a batch of Lugies 30 second biscuits for miss 3 to shape and decorate, then the sticky date pudding and caramel sauce to take out to dinner tonight.  Must say that recipe is the lightest, fluffiest and nicest sticky date pudding I've ever had. It's always a hit!

Funny, I always thought this was a typically French Canadian recipe, almost slang even. Weird to see it elsewhere!

Today there was a huge warehouse sale at a local kitchen cookware store, so I got myself loads of kitchen gadgets, some I'm not even sure what they do!! I also had impromtu lunch guests, so I made them some pasta alla carbonara with some home made bread, and strawberry sorbet for dessert. They were impressed.

Was invited to a picnic, so I made two ricotta cheese cakes.  That's one of my absolute favorites.  Not as rich as NY style, but more flavor IMHO.  Usually  I just use a bowl and whisk, but this time I did use the TM.  My standard recipe is HERE .  I didn't change the recipe at all, just used the butterfly to whip things together.  Sorry for the glare in the picture, but you get the idea

I made a ricotta cheesecake a few months ago - meant to write up the recipe - thanks for reminding me Warren.  Similar but mine has sultanas from memory ( I hope !!)

Well yesterday was a bit of a cookathon for a dinner:
Truffled chicken mousse in pork and pigs' skin
Chicken croquttes (nuggets)
Steamed eggplant with chilli & tomato salsa
Veal paprika
Chicken curry
Rice
Spinach and Mushroom lasagna
Watermelon and kirsch granita.
Then MrsT did an old fav - Strawberry Diplomat

So, better write some recipes ....
