Title: Apple slice
Post by: rubyslippers on September 01, 2010, 01:09:03 am
Hi

I am wondering if anyone has a recipe, or could mash a few recipes together to make the yummiest apple slice I have ever tasted!!!

It was in a bakery where I lived last year (and sadly it is way to far to drive to get some).

The base was soft bread, the middle was like pie apple and the topping was like crumble (but no oats).

I want some so bad, but don't am not brave enough to make a recipe myself (I will happily test any suggestions though0.

Many thanks

Maybe the brioche dough from EDC for the base or schiacciata dough from Vegetarian book

Apples cooked with small amount of water, some butter and sugar as desired

Crumble - whatever your favourites are

Roll dough out like pizza/foccacia and top with apple & crumble & bake at 200 deg (180 fan forced) for 15 minutes.

:-)) :-))  Just made it up - but worth playing around

rubyslippers, try this recipe (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?action=post;board=36.0) that i have just posted. the recipe is from an old 70's book of mum's that i photocopied the page from, but i don't know the name of the book. i've just converted it to TM for you - but note, it doesn't have a bread base or crumble topping that you were after.
