Hi Desi, quite a few of us have the New Wave 5 in 1 and love it. If you do a search you should be able to find the thread.

Nu wave fantastic! I did a boned pork shoulder in slow cooker function with cup of freshly squeezed apple juice - could pull meet apart with two forks soooooooo tender - soup function great too for larger quantities of soup (than thermomix).

I'm delighted I have bought it - we'll worth the money.

Hi Robyn and  Sylvia
Thank you for your replies. The New Weave 5 sounds wonderful that you can do so many different things. I should have had one when the kids were home. We're only two at home now and I think the TM does most things for two people, but I'd like just a pressure cooker to cook mainly dry beans, lentils etc. Then again I might be tempted to buy the NW5 :)

We are a 2 people household and I find the Nu Wave really useful.

Desi, the Nu Wave compliments the TMX beautifully. You can slow/pressure cook your casserole in the Nu Wave and do the rice or vegie side in the TMX. Make a meal in the thermomix and use the Nu Wave as a rice cooker/steamer.

I have the Cuisinart 6 litre electric pressure cooker- absolutely love it! Have not been near a slow cooker in many years and gave mine away. That's why I haven't even considered a multicooker as a slow cooker doesn't appeal to me- either I use my oven and 'slow' cook or use the pressure cooker and make the same dishes as I was doing in a slow cooker but obviously in a fraction of the time. The two main appliances I use are the TM of course and the pressure cooker.

I think one of the biggest things is that ith the 5 in 1 you can set the timer and forget it whereas with the sove top one you need to be around to set the timer once at pressure

Hi Merlin,

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I was thinking along the line of having as fewer things possible in the kitchen and put saucepans if used in the drawer. The NW5 seems very good but I will only use it for the pressure cooker because of the kind of cooking I do.

Courton, thank you :)
