Hi, i only got my thermomix yesterday, and i love it.
A friend of mine has been to a demo, and is interested in buying one, but she needs to know, can it mill corn, or does it get stuck.
She always cooks, likes me.
thanks,
Robyn

Should be OK -I'll try it tonight.
BTW - if you do ring, let us know what they say. :-*

i rang head office, and she said i have to ring my consultant, that's what they are there for....
i said what about if i have more questions, later on, they say, to ring the consultant, get her to find out, and ring me back...

that sounds a little impolite. at least they could have advised you about calling your consultant but added... "however in answer to your question...."

Well, you have bought a little piece of your consultant - get your money's worth. ;D ;D ;D

Hi Robyn,
Barbara has milled pop corn (is it the same?)
Yes, I have. Took popcorn, put it n the Tm and ground it on high speed for a little while - don't know speed and time but remember it took quite a while (3 mins maybe) and was ground fine.

Hi Obbie,
I mill corn all the time - I use maize grain. When I used to use a stone grinder, the corn would make a really big mess, and force the stones apart and I'd have to do it a couple of times to get it fine enough. Now I just use the Thermomix and it works perfectly! I sometimes grind it dry, but more often grind it with the liquids in the recipe (blender-batter-baking style) - I have photos and a recipe for my corn bread done this way that I've been meaning to post! Will try and do that today. :)

Sorry, forgot to get back - I milled popcorn but it is not as successful as what Jo would have with maize. Popcorn is a special type of corn designed to burst with heat and it is really dry and slightly gritty once milled.
Better to find the proper grains.
