That must be very difficult for everyone when the homes go into lockdown.
Good trip home.  Not too many big trucks.
Dr appointment tomorrow. Have results already of CT scan.  All good.

I went to the supermarket to do a bit of last minute shopping. Even at 7.00am the car park was nearly full 😳 I had a lovely conversation with the check out lady. Like me, she's having Christmas lunch cooked for her by her DD and SIL.😁 I've offered to prep all the veg for our meal. DS has grown all the veg except the broccoli ( his isn't ready yet) and the roasting potatoes but he has grown a potato variety that is waxy and delicious when steamed.
DS has grown Brussel sprouts, carrots, parsnips, red cabbage, white beetroot and Charlotte potatoes. He also says there is kale and spinach if required.

CC, that is amazing that your DS has grown so many veg.  It is so nice to be able to eat out of your garden. Although we try to eat something we have grown each day it is often just parsley or the eggs for breakfast.   I grew some Charlotte Apples at Cherokee.  Bought some Xmas Lilies , ours don’t flower until New Year. Love the perfume.
Last minute food shopping, making bread sticks for Garlic Bread, veggie prep. Slicing the ham.

Everything is ready for tomorrow except for a few last minute things.
We are just about ready to go out to DS & DIL as it is her Birthday today.  No matter how busy we are we always like to make time to go out and celebrate with her.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

I did all the prep and cooking for tomorrow. It was a busy day.

Thanks Judy, I intend to. We will go down to see MIL and DH will feed her the Christmas lunch we take down, then home, lunch and probably a sleep.

I went to DS house. I picked the sprouts while he pulled the root veg and cut the red cabbage growing in his garden.
In his kitchen I prepped the veg while he made me lunch. Homemade Leek and Potato soup with homemade sourdough bread, The roads were busy driving home.
We are then out tonight for drinks and “nibbles” at our lovely neighbours.

Well I can now say I managed to move a field bin on the road over a narrow bridge , were the last field bin is cactus on the side of the road , lucky there was no stress monitor on me . The last few days have been very long ones but on the upside DH phone was found by a kind business man a few blocks from were DH had left with the truck . He managed to take the SIM card out put into his phone to get the phone no and rank DH ! One very flat phone he said so sim posted . Christmas Eve  DD and I packed to go to DM’s today , we took it slowly and enjoyed time together. Meanwhile DH and DS stayed home to keep harvesting till late . First time I do not have DS with us for Xmas morning he was a little bit miffed but will both be with us for Christmas lunch . Have a lovely Christmas Day everyone .

Happy Christmas to everyone.  Can see I wasn’t the only one busy yesterday.  It is amazing what we all do. Getting up early to put the Turkey breast into the SC as recommended by RTE. will take 6 hours on low. Think I will heat SC on high first. Still a few small jobs to do.
Hot lunch at home with DS and family and cold Dinner at DD.

Merry Christmas everyone, hope you all have a wonderful day and that Santa is kind to you.

We are going to our neighbours for dinner tonight - we are all taking a plate so I have dessert and, being the only vegetarian, one dish for the main meal.  Much less stressful for me doing it this way.

Lovely 3 course lunch at the nursing home with Mum, they are so good to me here. Prawn cocktail, roast then I chose fruit salad/ice-cream over pudding/custard.

We had a late morning coffee, then drove down to Rockingham to see MIL. DH fed her the lunch we took down. Then home to our lunch, Nanna nap, dinner and a walk.
