Peanut Butter Icecream
« on: January 17, 2011, 09:07:27 am »
Peanut Butter Icecream:
Makes about 1 litre:
Ingredients:
180g peanut butter
180g sugar
330ml cream
330ml milk (I used hi lo)
pinch of salt
1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation:
Puree the peanut butter, sugar, milk, cream, salt and vanilla until smooth. I'm sorry I didn't check the time. Use a high speed and it won't take long.
Chill and then put in the icecream machine. I guess otherwise put it in the freezer and check to see if it needs re beating after it is semi frozen.

Photos:
Next time.
Tips/Hints:

Delicious.

Hally - Just like creamy peanut butter. Fantastic. Thanks cookie'

Shallys DH - Next time I will perhaps grind the sugar down to a powder before adding the other ingredients as the mixture tasted a little grainy when I tasted it but yummy all the same...

My husband is going to love you, Cookie1.  He is a peanut butter addict - I don't know if I dare make this as I don't think I will be able to keep him out of the freezer when it is ready!  Thanks so much for this recipe.

At this rate Cookie you will be opening a Ice-cream Palour. :D :D I love reading all your recipes and seeing what flavours you have today. We are not great Ice-cream eaters, maybe that would change if we lived in a hot climate like you. :)

It is my absolute pleasure. I love to share, then people can come up with variations that I would never have thought of.
Yesterday I roasted 3 bananas with a little brown sugar and a tiny bit of butter. Mixed it with milk, vanilla a bit more sugar and lemon juice in the TMX. I've left it overnight in the fridge and will turn it into icecream today.

It is awfully nice. Hard to stop eating it. I made the Vanilla icecream from Tenina's blog yesterday and that is lovely.

I've just made this and I'm churning it as I type.

Next time I will perhaps grind the sugar down to a powder before adding the other ingredients as the mixture tasted a little grainy when I tasted it. but yummy all the same...

Hopefully my nearest and dearest will like it; she's the only one who likes peanut butter

Where have you been for almost 3 years Shallys DH?  Nice to see you posting again and I hope Shally enjoys the ice-cream.

I certainly did enjoy the ice cream (as did DD) but I actually enjoyed the surprise and thoughtfulness of the gesture more  ;D

Both of us tend to lurk more than post - sorry  :-[ will promise to post more often  :-*
