All of that food looks lovely. I haven't made anything just yet. I plan to attempt a swiss roll for our trifle. Mine have always broken, so it will be ok as its for trifle. No other cooking.

Lovely biscuits Margaret.  Chookie, what are those bought pavs like, I’ve only ever made them myself.

Your Pav & salad look great Chookie.  Today I finally finished my almond bread.  I brought an electric slicer awhile back and it cut the almond bread beautifully.  Super thin, much better that the knife I usually use.   Then made some florentines & German honey gingerbread.  Hopefully tomorrow will get my sponge made for a lemon mousse cake done & make a baked white chocolate & raspberry cheesecake.

You have been busy Trudy.
I had a successful Swiss roll today. You possibly heard me shout when it didn't crack. I will use it for our trifle for Christmas Day.

It is getting hard to cut the almond bread with a bread knife Trudy, I didn’t make any this year but an electric knife would be the answer.  Great dessert cooking there.
Lovely swiss roll cookie.

Judy, the bought Pav is surprisingly good. Doesn’t have the nice slightly brown crisp crust that the home made one has.
Cookie , beautiful Swiss roll. Shame to use it in a trifle.
Trudy, that collection of sweets sounds lovely.

Great cooking everyone.

Cookie, I was told that if you cut a slit along the edge of the swiss roll before rolling it that should stop the cake from cracking.  I haven't done it myself so can't say for sure but it might be worth a try .

I have made a Chocolate Mousse Cheese cake this morning and started on a trifle.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

It does look very nice Gayle but what the heck are you doing baking bread in such hot weather??!!
When things get crazy busy I make lists and try to get through as much as possible in a day  :P We had also run out of bread so I had to buy or bake. Chose bake as similar breads are very expensive to buy and the DD is getting very fussy. I love having 2 ovens. The small one is just big enough to bake a loaf of bread or a cake or a few muffins so it doesn't heat up the house too much.
Gorgeous pav Chookie and Cookie that swiss roll is awesome. Did you use the recipe on here?
Thankyou to all the wonderful members that contribute so much time and are generous with their recipes.  :D
Ditto. I have learnt so much here and now make things that I never dreamed of. I can hardly wait to try the strawberry liqueur and conserve :D

Falafels , 12 bread rolls and a loaf which is 1/2 organic white and 1/2 Spelt.
The 4 small rolls, I am cutting the lid off, removing most of the crumb and filling with curried crab. Reheating in AF.

Yum Chookie.
Thanks for the hints re the Swiss roll. I used a recipe, with pictures from a magazine. I trimmed the long edges very slightly before I rolled it.
Today I boiled eggs for a potato salad and Russian salad, cooked the potatoes, made custard and jelly for trifle and vacuumed and washed the living area. Actually DH did the washing. The kitchen will need it again after salad making tomorrow but it won't be so bad.

That Swiss roll turned out a treat.  I havent made one for years!

Besides what I intended to make today I got a batch of “crack” made with hazelnuts.  Wayne can’t leave this stuff alone and loves the crumbs you get when you cut it up sprinkled on icecream - he say’s it tastes like gaytime ice creams but as I have never had one I am not sure!

Wow you girls are so busy.  I only made myself an egg & potato salad and cooked some beans.

Chookie what’s a ‘light money sauce’ ?
