Title: Broccoli Nuggets- Cooking for Babies & Toddlers Book
Post by: Jamberie on June 30, 2013, 11:56:04 am
I made these delicious morsels tonight. I followed the recipe except I made quenelles and didn't flatten them. I found a dessert spoon to be a good size for us. Some people might like more salt. They were enjoyed by three generations and are the easiest way I've found to consume broccoli  :)

I was under pressure tonight and didn't have time to actually make the nuggets, so I just made a three layered broccoli and cauliflower pie.  Cheese and breadcrumb base, cauli and broccoli wizzed up with some Caramelised Garlic Paste, then a topping of egg, chia, flour and a bit more cheese for good luck.  It cut well but I think the original format is better.

Yum!
Firm favourite in our house.
Great next day too for the kids lunch box.
I add only 50g of cheddar or gruyere and 100g of Parmesan.
5/5

I was a bit nervous making these due to a reaction my first daughter had to a broccoli nugget recipe I made without the Thermomix but no need. Both herself (now a 2 year old), almost 10 month old and myself thoroughly enjoyed them. They're fine warm or cold.

I like Jamberie's quenelle shapes better than what is recommended - flatted meatballs.

The only thing I'd say is it's not necessary to preheat the oven from the beginning of the recipe, especially since you have to stick the mixture in the fridge for 15-30 mins to firm up in order to roll it.

Does take a while to make up all but delicious and will make again.

Tasty they look great :)
I like your tip about not turning the oven on at the start :)
