We just had this smoked salmon soup for lunch.  I still had the second packet I won from Helene's blog so used that (Wild Smoked Sockeye Salmon) - hope Helene isn't reading this thread, she will have a fit to see I have used it in soup  :o :o :o :o but it was soooooo nice.  I did what Thermomixer said and blitzed the potato to start with (used 4 as I wanted it nice and thick).  It did take an extra 8 minutes to cook though so next time I might try the precooked potato method.  I am going to serve the leftovers over some steamed garlic rice (it is almost a mornay consistency so should work well).  Thanks for the posting terstoo.

( see how I used the"Insert Quote).    Ha, Ha.

Good work Chookie - you'll be running the show soon.   ;) ;) ;D

JD - sorry, thought that it would cut down on cooking time - otherwise you need to cook the potatoes for 20-30 mins.

Nothing can beat fresh crab Judy. Fortunately we usually get our fix at Monkey Mia. You can get them in the Swan River but we really don't take our boat out in the city.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Not a problem Thermomixer, still a very quick soup to make.  If I know in advance what I am cooking I would make sure I cooked extra potato the day before but I am not very organised at the moment.

Judydawn - Glad you liked it. when they cooked it at the demo the lady had cooked and mashed (blitzed) potatoes that she added. i loved it at the demo, and am going to make it over the Christmas holidays for something different!!

Terstoo, love the look of this soup.  Will certainly try it when it gets a bit cooler.   Thanks.
