Hi everyone, I have just got a thermomix. My sister lives in Germany and has one and my Mum visited her and bought me one!!!! I now realise how lucky I am :D I had never even heard of it before and to be honest was scared to use it.
I went to a demo a few nights ago and am no longer scared. I have made bread, broccoli salad, pumpkin soup and the tomato noodle soup and am going to make strawberry sorbet later. I am going to another demo next week and cant wait.
I am so impressed and have even surprised myself with what I have already made. I am really looking forward to trying some more of the yummy recipes on here.

Lucky you Mell ! Hi and welcome to the forum. Mum probably doesn't realise it yet but she will have changed your life for the better with this amazing machine in your kitchen. So glad you found this forum early on, you will learn so much here - our recipes are pretty darn good too ;) ;)

My sister is a fab cook and my Mum saw her use her Bimby everyday and thought it would be great for me as I hardly ever cook. I am already converted and have just made the Bimby Chocolate Cake. I have been on annual leave so have had time to play with my new toy ;)

You won't want to go back to work :D :D Have fun.

I have just made some basic white bread rolls and some icing for the chocolate cake.
I seriously am well on my way to becoming a domestic goddess ;)

Well today I made some mayonnaise which was delicious, and after that I made some gingerbread biscuits which were also yummy. And I also made some home made pasta!!!
I have not used the varoma yet, still not sure about what to do, but hopefully after my demo this week I will be ready to experiment with that.
-
How lucky are you? :D I'm sure you know.
Congratulations! It's so much fun exploring cooking in a totally new dimension and healthier to boot.
I've only used my Varoma once so far. Very easy but haven't got back to it again. Baby steps!
Have fun and keep us posted.
;D

Welcome you sure are cooking a lot, I havent used my varoma yet so much you can do without it.
-
Give it a go Yvette, it will open up a whole new world for you, like all-in-one main courses. ;) ;)

I was scared of using the varoma for a while too - but then jumped right in and made Chelsea's Bangers and Mash in Tasty Onion Gravy (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=3821.0) using the varoma - a fantastic, tasty meal and so easy - and now I use the varoma all the time. I do find that I tend to steam the vegies for a bit less than the recommended time, 'cause we like them crunchy (10-12 mins seems to work for me) but it is SO easy, and you will soon find out just what you like - so give the varoma a go!!
