Made a batch of this last night after getting a box of veges cheap (which included all the veg needed for this recipe - and others too) Can't say I have exactly tasted it but it smells and looks like vege stock concentrate so I guess it is right! (Also have not compared to see if this is any different to the old EDC recipe either. ) Linked - JD

Made this for dinner last night, was enjoyed by all. Did to recipe except for no mushrooms as we didn't have any, and I put cheese, paprika and pizza herbs on the top. I thought it could do with a bit more flavor personally but DH and the girls loved it and have already requested it again - later this week! I was a bit worried as DH's first comment was "this stinks like beer" (he doesn't like beer) but then he tasted it!!! Linked CC

Help needed please everyone... My DH has just informed me he is getting me a tablet for my birthday next month, and wants to know what size screen I eant. The main thing it will be used for (probably) is reading recipes off while I cook. So what does anyone recommend and why? Thanx.

Just made these for the girls, they have been recieved very well, even by vege hating neice!!! I have not tried one myself but they smell soooooo good. Was a bit worried as the mix was so runny, but cooked up just fine. (No flour in them is probably why the mix was so runny!!) Definate 5/5 from all here so far!

Can anyone help? I love potato and bacon soup, DH has been buying tins of bacon and potato soup cuz I haven't made him any, my daughters love potato and bacon soup - and it is becoming soup weather - BUT...I can't find a recipe for bacon and potato soup. I have a couple of non-TM ones, but each trial in TM has failed. I would really really appreciate any recipes or links to potato and bacon soup in the TM from anyone. TIA. Why is something that should be so easy being so tricky??

Hello all, well we are trying to decide on a name for our upcoming arrival, have a boys name sorted (if we need it), but can't think of a girls name we both like! So any suggestions will be much appreciated! We must have used all the pretty names for girls already...

Kumara - peeled & cut into chunks, as many as you want Bacon, chopped Onion - cut into largeish chunks... Par-boil (or steam) kumara, spray with oil and bake for approx 1hr (depending on size.) 1/2 way thru cooking, spread with dressing (recipe below), and put the chopped bacon and onion on top to cook too. Once cooked, place on a serving platter and sprinkle with parsley. Dressing 1/4C sour cream 1/4C mayonnaisse 2Tblsp water 2 Tblsp mustard. This makes a lot of dressing, I find it enough dressing for 2 lots of approx 25 1inch chunks of kumara, depends on how thick you spread it.

So simple it is hardly a recipe, but here goes... cooked sausages mashed potato Sliced tomato diced bacon grated cheese pizza topper or other herbs of your choice. Split sausages nearly all the way thru but not quite, spead mashed potato in, slide tomato slices in beside the potato (Or on top, whatever suits) sprinkle diced bacon over (or mix thru mash before putting in sausages) Sprinkle grated cheese over, top with pizza topper or herbs. That is really just the basic recipe, you can add whatever you like. These ones have garlic powder in the mash, along with S&P. DH loves chicken sausages with sweet chilli sauce in the mash before filling. Pineapple is nice in pork sausages... Make your own versions, the variety is only limited by imagination!!

OK I have done these in the TM, but cannot find where I wrote what I did, so.... I used the EDC (I think) recipe for the crepes... This is the filling...
1 medium onion - diced 3 rasher bacon - diced 30g butter 4 medium zucchini - grated 1t dijon mustard 2t wholegrain mustard 200ml sour cream 4T cornflour salt and ground black pepper
To make the filling, fry bacon and onion in the butter in a medium saucepan. Add mustards and zucchini, cook stirring, until warm. Add combined sour cream and cornflour. Stir until mixture thickens. Season with salt and pepper. Refrigerate. (Make crepes) Place 1.5T of mix at one end of the crepe. Roll up to form a parcel. Repeat with remaining crepes and filling. Place parcels in a single layer on an ovenproof platter. Freeze at this point if desired. Bake uncovered 30min to warm through. Serve topped with hollandaise sauce and black pepper.
Makes enough filling for 35 crepes.

Makes 18 cookies - sutible for freezing.
100g butter, cubed 100g cream cheese, cubed 100g caster sugar 75g flour 50g dried apricots - diced 65g white choc chips
preheat oven to 180 deg, line tray with paper. Put butter and cream cheese in TM bowl, cream together sp 2 going up to sp 4 over 10 sec, then keep beating a further 30sec on sp 4. Add sugar and beat until fluffy - approx 40sec on sp 5, then gradually add flour thru hole in lid (while still beating), until all incorporated then beat a further 10 sec. Scrape down sides and add choc and apricots. Mix reverse sp 3 for 20 sec. The mixture will be very soft. Drop heaped teaspoons of mix onto prepared trays (be warned, the spread well) and cook approx 15min or until lightly golden. Allow to cool and harden for a few minutes on the baking tray before moving to a wire cooling rack.
1st pic is of my batch which ended up a bit overcooked on the bottom (my fault, not the recipe's) 2nd pic is a photo of the pic in the book.
