« on: April 12, 2012, 11:21:07 pm »
i have made a mock version for years. Finally tried this version and its BRILLIANT. I rounded the measurements up and it was perfect. The only change i would make is to blind bake the pastry first :-) Oh and thanks for the tip about with custard, had never had it that way before, yum yum :-)

Desserts / Re: Macarons - French Style (With Photo)

Well, after tasting a macaron for the first time just last week, i started looking for recipes as its disgusting what thy charge for them. Now, they taste wonderful, but they are a lil flat. I am wondering if the extra liquid from the food colouring made the mix a little wet and if i perhaps increased the dry ingredients a little it might be better next time. I am hoping t master them so i can do a Macaron tower/tree for Christmas eve dinner

Oh No!!!  Just what I dont need to see when i log on... A new Recipe from Isi!!!!   I haven't been around long but to do an Isi recipe is to love Isi  8)  Your Portuguese Rolls (i make it as a loaf) are my most cooked thing. It probably doesnt help that my husband is Portuguese  ;)    Even his picky parents love it.   I have a feeling i will be trying these soon as i am a sucker for ham and cheese croissants  :-))

I am in shock!!!  I have had my TM for about 4 mths, and although i do use it a fair amount, i dont consider it used heavily. Well, i just discovered this morning that my  :: isnt working anymore. I am devastated.I would have only done about 30 loafs. Anyone else have this happen to them?

Soups / Re: Sweet Corn Chicken Soup

loved this!
i only put about 2/3 of the tin of creamed corn in and found it was plenty.
My Husband loved this and is a big fan of soups so i think this will be a regular dish but he did also say it had maybe a bit too much chicken in which is fine by me, less chicken the cheaper it is to make  :)

Introduce Yourself / FInally!!!

Hi Everyone, Well i have had my thermomix for nearly 2 months now and i have had so much going on i haven't really done it justice yet. My main issue is being organised enough up front with the ingredients needed to try things. I have 3 kids, 7yr. 5yr and 3yr. You'd think i'd be able to cook up a storm to feed them but my 7yr old son Dylan does not eat orally, my 5yr, Nathan is the fussiest eater (like things plain and untouched) my husband is also on a high protein diet so that normally just leaves my 3yr daughter, Izzy and myself, BUT, i have a Lapband and cant eat a great deal to justify cooking a full meal for us two.
here's some of the things i have done, eclairs, biscuits, Butter Chicken, Pumpkin soup, Chicken and Cashew, Beef Vindaloo, several breads including Isi's Portuguese rolls that my Portuguese husband and his mother LOVE. lots of sorbet's, mashed potato, rice and tonight i finally did the Chicken and Sweet corn soup !!!  This machine is awesome and everyone i have introduced it to wants one :-)
