Hi, where do i buy glitter for cakes, online would be better.
DD birthday in 3 weeks.

Or any shops that you could recommend, that I could ring..

These ppl  have some stuff  Robyn . I could go and have a look if I know what you want. Right near my favourite Thai restaurant so no burden. LOL!  Also right next door to,the Enviromart.

Obbie, I used to make heapes of this when I did cake decorating.  It's cheap to make and will keep in a sealed container for years.

GLITTER
To 3/4 cup water dissolve 5 teaspoons gum arabic powder.  Add colour if desired.
Brush onto dinner plates and put into a hot oven, turn oven off and leave until dried.

Hope this helps
PS Gum Arabic is available at cake decorating stores and some chemists.

Uni, I often use coloured sugars too for sprinkling on vanilla biscuits before baking, or on cupcakes. I just put some sugar in a ziploc bag with some food colouring and then rub the colour through. I then cut a corner out of the bottom of the bag and use to sprinkle on the biscuit/cake.

I havent had any problems with the colour running, but I havent used really vibrant colours.
