What a patient and persistent lady you are, Donna.  Glad you won through in the end - the fun starts now.  Your whole family are going to be spoilt with great food from now on.

When I saw this subject heading I thought it was going to be a joke or nothing really there, just posted for a laugh - something along the lines of the children's story about the Emperor's new clothes!  How wrong could I be?  This looks fabulous and has been printed out and added to my "must do" pile.  Thanks for the recipe Chookie.

Welcome to the forum, Olive.  My sauce often ends up quite green as well, don't worry about it, everything tastes just as delicious regardless of the colour.

That was very daring of you buying a truffle, Sim.  I haven't a clue what to do with them, but admire your sense of adventure.  Let us know how it goes (and whether it tastes like $50.00!).

24 years and no trade in on a new model - I call that a superb achievement.  Happy Anniversary and sorry that your plans for a break away went awry, that would be disappointing for you both as I should image you were both looking forward to it and there would be so much organising to be done in advance when you take Geoff away for more than a couple of hours.  Hope your lunches went some way toward making up for everything.

It sounds as though experimenting with piping and icing combinations will guide you in the way which suits you best.  Both of your styles look amazing to me.  Perhaps a lot has to do with having a good piping bag and nozzles as well, then that would probably give you the confidence to have a go with different methods and styles.

Kathryn, what a terrible experience.  We can do without that sort of stress in our lives - I know exactly how it feels "holding" something inside until you can get home - your whole system goes into 'panic' mode and you get tunnel vision that sees only the toilet door!

Take care.

As we think DH may be becoming lactose intolerant I experimented with some new vegan recipes - we're already vegetarian, so vegan is simply a slightly different direction for me and have made plenty of vegan meals in the past, but never been totally vegan, although I'm thinking it shouldn't be much of a problem, espeically with Indian food.

Anyway, made some tofu steaks with a lovely, slightly crunchy tahini / sesame / mustard / lemon sauce for lunches (as they are fairly small), a red sauce for combining with canellini beans using beetroot to give the main red colouring and a roasted pumpkin and walnut pasta sauce.  All recipes from my new recipe book called Feel Good Food by Tony Chiodo.  I was going to make cashew nut curry as well, but ran out of time as I didn't have my TMX to rely on.

Welcome to the forum, Felmingham.   What a shame your first posting was for something that didn't work out.  I haven't tried this soup yet as I'm not a coriander fan, but it may be worth you trying again as the soup seems to have very positive reviews.  We all have disasters at one time or another, maybe try to remember if you deviated from the recipe, however accidentally, and see if your next pot of soup works out better for you.

What special day is that, Chookie?  It's not JD's birthday is it (... not wanting to start any sort of rumour with that comment, of course!).

Can anyone tell me what, if any, difference there is between a whoppee pie tin and a muffin top tin?

To be honest I haven't seen a muffin top tin, but saw a whoppee pie tin yesterday and I would imagine that they are inter-changeable, is that correct?
