Getting off topic here (sorry everyone), but talking of heat - how's your AC situation going Cookie?

Dropped in on a friend yesterday and came away with a load of tomatoes and basil - looking for a cashew or almond pesto recipe now.

Glad the second cataract removal went well Judy, what a difference it will make once everything has settled down,

K Atie, I got caught in rush hour traffic yesterday as well as I was leaving Ikea - isn't it funny to think that we may both have been there at the same time!

So many people are gluten free now, Chookie. Hopefully the change will be beneficial to you.

That smoothie sounds tasty, Judy.  How are you getting on with your smoothies ... still experimenting with different combinations?

That is exactly what I am about to do, Judy - make up a fresh batch of miracle spray.

I'm not sure what a good tofu replacement would be - perhaps seitan?  I think it would have to be something with a relatively soft texture (and I don't think seitan is particularly soft, come to think of it) and neutral taste.  I'm thinking I would eat it as part of a wrap, so room temperature ... although my preliminary taste was whilst it was still warm and it tasted lovely.

san choy bow (I think that is how you spell it, also called vegetarian lettuce wraps) https://www.recipetineats.com/vegetarian-lettuce-wraps/

This is addictive!  I made a batch today and unfortunately did not quite have all the ingredients but it was still a fantastic mix.  This will see me through several lunches this week.  The most annoying part - dicing all the vegetables finely to ensure they all cook and I was very happy that I had invested in a tofu press a couple of years ago - makes my life much easier.  Once you have the prep done it only takes minutes to come together.

Vege stew, Greek "giant" beans, RTE's vege wraps san choy bow and egg salad - that should keep us fed for the week.

That was a tough day K Atie, that storm wasn't so bad down here.

Lucky neighbours' boy and friend, Chookie!

Took DH to surgeon, he has two small basal cell carcinomas on his nose.  Operation next Friday - his skin grafts will come from his forehead area - it's just good luck he has very little hair up there ;D

Hearing aids have certainly changed and come a long way since I was  young.  I remember out old doctor had one, it was about the size of a 400 ml can (except oblong, not round) with wires everywhere.

Good news that your tinnitus is under control.

That is very frustrating, Cookie.  If I feel it appropriate I do complain to the staff member and always point out that I do not blame them personally, but that I would like my complaint to be conveyed to their manager.  Similarly, when I actually manage to find a person ... yes, a living human (shock horror) ... to serve me I always say how nice it is to have the personal touch and to also convey that comment to their manager.

Judy, how are the hearing aids going?

I had a pig of a day yesterday.  I was in the shop by myself.  Fortunately the workshop staff were there to help cover for me as this is the busiest time of our year.  Anyway, I found a massive anomaly in my bank reconciliation that took me most of the day to sort out, in the interim I spent ages on the phone to our accountant sorting out the end of financial year papers, my quarterly BAS and superannuation.  By the end of the day I was a walking zombie.  Hopefully today is Friday which means I will get a break over the weekend.

Over the years I have tried many different mac and cheese recipes but, although there are quite a few that I have liked, none have ever quite 'hit the spot'.  I will continue my quest ...

WOW!! - an over-used expression, but more than apt in this case.  That motor home looks fantastic, Cookie.  You will be so excited when it is delivered.

I don't know that I have ever tried Bircher Muesli, Cookie.  I will check it out.  Mind you, on thinking about it, there is always CADA, which is really nice and DH has that most days, so maybe I will just acquire some of his!
