Laguiole have different quality knives within the one brand.. They have a very affordable range which seems to be everywhere here and a more expensive and better quality range... Been to laguiole where i bought my steak knives.. They are great and havent lessened in quality since i bought them from a little shop in the town years ago...

I must have the lesser quality ones.  Awful.  They weren't cheap.

I remember when i was in one of the shops in laguiole, france that there were different qualities in some of the shops and the price tags accordingly ... Unfortunately i think there is alot of mass produced items that are very different from what is being produced in the small french town and charging prices not matching the quality under the name of laguiole..

What don't you like about it Chookie? My DD wants the carving set. I wouldn't know the difference in quality. None of it's cheap.
