If you are lucky enough to get cream reduced priced (considerably cheaper  :P) by your supermarket as it nears it best date you can freeze the cream, (if you don't have time to make butter straight away...often happens in my house  :o) defrost it in the fridge and it will still whip perfectly to make butter - I tried my first lots of frozen cream tonight and they all worked perfectly. Takes the pressure off a little  ;)

It seemed only fair that I should "out" myself & I am amazed that not more consultants are using this site but I will certainly try to rectify that.

I'm having ANOTHER demo next week :D and am going to show my consultant this site. Have told and emailed her about it a couple of times and she still hasn't looked :( So...will be physically showing her this time! She is always proud of what I do in my TM and I tell her all the great things come from this forum and NOT me lol. Wait til I tell her about the dishwasher and laundry detergents  :o

Could someone please tell me how many grams of butter 500ml of cream would make? Does 500ml of cream = 500g? I've been assuming that it does  :P

With all the extra baking I've been doing since I got the TM, we've been going through 1kg a week  :o

Just made more butter and THIS time I remembered to check and weigh how much you get for how much lol

I used 900 ml of cream which made 500g of butter and gave me 500ml of buttermilk to bake with :)

Hope this helps

Thanks everyone....if it doesn't go sudsy then I am in!!  I haven't used sudsy detergents for years even when I had a toploader as I always used the concentrates.  Now to find a container to hold it when it is made...life presents such challenges lol

I will add a post and confirm how I went with the front loader  ;D

I have to ask before I make this...and I am dying to make it and try lol

Has anyone tried it in a front loading machine yet or can anyone tell me if it gets really sudsy in a top loading machine (hope you know what I mean!)

Don't think I could deal with all the suds and the time it takes to clean it up if it went wrong in my machine  ;D

Welcome / Re: Karen's Poll - where are you from???

It might be that fresh produces are much more expensive than nasty prepared food here in Canada, since we have local produces just a few months a year...

ROFL no fancy cuisine in my house either....think you might be onto something with the local produces and the price perhaps. You will just have to think of all the time it saves you instead!  ;)

Hi Brazen, something my consultant mentioned (I haven't tried it yet) is to use the butterfly. It stops the vortex happening and sucking all the meat to the blades. I can see how it would work with just keeping the food moving but not always sucked down to the blades.  You could do this with any casserole type dish. That might help.

I don't know why ours is green, but its a real old fashioned soap, no smell, leaves your hands soft too! In fact most dermatologists recommend its use when people have sensitive skin or chicken pox!
Will post the recipe as soon as I make it, tomorrow when I get to the shops to buy it.
Ps. Have read that the dishwasher detergent is wonderful for cleaning the bath, sink and loo, will have to make some more to keep it myself! ;D

Lol I was just wondering myself this morning when I was having a shower if the dishwasher detergent would make a great cleaner for the bathroom - I was thinking about trying it...now I definitely will thanks Bron

Thought I would just post this as an update!

Ours is yellowy white I think Bron - never seen a green one but maybe someone else knows if there is one. Would probably do the same thing as yours. Ours is called Velvet soap - I presume you can still buy it now.

You can still buy it! Still comes in the same yellow and blue box even ;) You may have to look hard on the bottom shelf of the supermarket for it in the laundry aisle. Would love to have this recipe but would it be suitable for front loaders I wonder? About to make the dishwasher detergent tomorrow  :)
