Yes I think perhaps the condensation from leaving the mc on has made water come into contact with the chocolate and maybe the chocolate has seized :(
The good news is that it is probably still edible, the texture will be affected more than the taste I would think... some clever slicing night make the best of a sad situation....I would probably have cried too. Good luck!

Turns out I'm a complete idiot! lol

I spent ages reading up on fudge to find out what I did wrong. I Was convinced it was the MC being on that did it so I hit the kitchen again to re-try. I was putting all the ingredients in for the second batch and then read the words "condensed milk" I had completely forgot to put it in in the first batch! Looks like I had more then 1 blooper on my first attempt. lol Fingers crossed they are all out of my system and it's all smooth fudge from here on  ;D

Good luck with your second batch aussiegal, I couldn't work out what your problem was as no-one else seemed to have had any issues.

Just made this & DH & I have cleaned the bowl out yum  :D It's in the fridge now & we will have to wait until tomorrow night to try

Hi Can anyone tell me roughly what sized tray to use, I have a lamington pan
 or a brownie tray would that be about right?

An 18cm square tin was used in the recipe Johnro converted this recipe from GHM.

Made three lots today while unpacking the kitchen so I misread the ingredients. NB Need to wear my GLASSES!!!
First batch only put 100g white choc in, second batch put same choc and undercooked by 5 mins, misread time and did first cook 3 mins only.
Third batch put 130g milk choc and chopped whole almonds in for a gluten free pressie.
All in fridge, will cut and report tomorrow.
Am sure will all be fine  ;D

Delicious, as always, I added the Glutino 'Oreos', that are gluten free for a friendly version for me and my celiac Mum :)

I was thinking, if you cooked the first mix just a bit longer, and left out the cho and mix ins, you would have delicious caramels, yes?
