Gosh Judy that’s a lot to take in . Chookie what a great idea .
The bad thing about DH going to the other farm means I have to take him and pick up . Today DD slept in till 11.30 , we called her princess! DH and I went to farm south again left DS doing his homework DD asleep . I had to drive everywhere! DH decided to light the stubbles ( the dried stems of crop from harvest in Jan February! No he had a lighter from our worker and told me to drive up the hill away from the smoke !! Yes he is on his crutches with his right foot in bright blue plaster up to his knee , hope you are all laughing , bending down foot in air and them flames 🔥 this is so stupid as he is moving away from the crackling stubble , truly I think I have a mad man on the loose . It was ok but as we drove around to check other paddocks I could see it burning slowly . Yes our worker was there planting the next door paddock. And our fire truck was brought down to make sure all ok . This is a normal thing to burn the stubble , but not with a man on crutches in the paddock.

Oh KAtie, I really feel for you.  We have a lot of stubble fires around here. Can’t see any mad men on crutches though.  ;D
Having same trouble with RAL.  Has been told not to do anything where he will hurt himself as the low platelets mean his blood is thick and will form clots.  Clot then go to heart or brain.  Yesterday he was under the ride on mower , fixing the blades.
Might type up the peanut recipe as Ral liked them.  Very easy and makes a lot.

K Atie that was so funny to read, once DH gets the all clear to go back to work he’ll be a happy chappy.  It’s hard to keep a good man (or woman) down, it makes me wonder how he’ll be when he reaches retirement as this really is a taste of it.
Chookie you need to tie Ral to a chair, here’s another man who cannot sit around doing nothing all day.  Bless them both, I can understand the position they’re in.

Hard having active men that have been told to rest. That would have been a hilarious scene Katie.
We will be out in the garden today, doing a pre winter go over. We have already relaid some wobbly pavers in the car port and DH has has bricked in the gardens either side as they just had treated logs and were looking worse for wear.

Men!!! Gotta love them though. I think as they get over 21 we need to get some thick rope to tie them down .
Some are very different though. I have a friend whose husband, when they retired did nothing except watch tv. She found it very trying.

Sounds like he was depressed and missing work.  When I retired I didn’t cope at all.  ( it was my choice to retire) the School asked me to come back and fix up the mess the man who took over from me made. I worked part time for 2 years and gradually accepted the idea.

You are probably correct Chookie. Another friend couldn't cope when he retired. He went back to work for about 5 years working in the laundry of the casino. He enjoyed it as it wasn't high powered with all the fun that went with his previous job. He then retired the same time as his wife and loves it.

I would love to retire, but fear I would become a blob sitting at home reading all the time.  DH has no intentions of retiring - even when we leave the business he will continue on at home with new making and restoring.

If you really enjoy what you do then it's not a chore. I went casual in 2015 and I loved that as I picked the days I wanted to go to work. They talked me into going back part time and I like just working 3 days a week.
Today I grocery shopped - the stock wasn't too bad on the shelf - there wasn't any bread flour or panko crumbs. I needed a couple more biscuit trays so went to K. Mart, the first non grocery store in over 4 weeks. There was nothing in the kitchen ware department. Only a few big roasting pans. Hardly any appliances apart from toasters. Will have to order online.

Thanks, Michelle, you have just saved me a pointless trip to the shops as I need a new salad spinner, I am assuming that there are none of them around just now so I'll pop onto the internet and order one.  It seems a shame to order just one item, though, perhaps I could 'pad' it out a bit ... I wonder what else I could buy?

Go for it Marina.
Not a lot going on here. Marina, I said when I retired I would read for an hour a day. That was almost 15 years ago and I still haven’t achieved it. I seem to potter round doing this and that.

My Step Dad retired early , he drove my mum mad , but then he  consulted much happier . Dropped DH off to his new found office ,Did a Zoom meeting today , it wasn’t that bad .DD DS both got thier lunch . Made food !! Then picked up DH earlier like 5 ( 6.30 at night is too late ).told the family to serve up there own dinner !  Had prepped an area to do my first Zoom yoga class ... it was good to do it but strange too . The reason I do all these extra things normally is to step away and have me time , take a deep breath. It’s odd how we are bringing everything into our homes , the future will be how we plan our home around all of this .!
