DD is a professional gal, so I don't think I will ever be a Nanna. It doesn't really worry me,  if you've never had it you don't know what it is like.

I love being a nanna but as you say cookie what you haven't had you don't miss.
I was a nanna at 40 which was never in my life plan but we embraced it and now have 11 of them. GD 1 and 2 were born 1 year apart and are like DD's to us whereas the others are GK's. my philosophy is you get what you are given in life so make the best of it whatever it gives.

Out sewing all day; came home, unpacked, cuppa and a rest and now to cook Teninas Tomato soup from For Foods Sake. I love this soup.

It sounds a busy day groupie. I had a pretty slack day.

Took Mum out to lunch then in to see Geoff, she hates nursing homes so I never stay long before taking her home and returning on my own. She was amazed at how good Geoff looked.  He had 4 lots of visitors today.

I am now down babysitting again.

We are enjoying our second last weekend with our FS.  It has been 2 weeks since he was here, thats the longest time away from us in 21/2 years.  I picked him up at 10am and he hasnt missed a beat all day.  Just fits in again.  What a hard life for a four year old.  He goes home to mum on Monday and then it is another two weks before he comes  back for his last weekend.
I hope he can stay in touch but dont hold too much hope.
Yes, it is hard and very emotional.  I guess the best outcome for him.  He has aways understood who his family is and had contact 3 times a week.  All good!
I cant wait to be a nanny niecy, 53 now and not a glimmer, whats to be will be.  Probably too much info but I used to taunt my mum with " if mr right doesnt come along I will visit the sperm bank", now I know how she felt as my 2 very maternal daughters are saying the same.

Denise your time will come so don't despair.
Hope all goes well with FS and he will never forget you and all that you and the family have given him. You are an amazing lady and FS's family are so lucky to have had you and your family to give so much of your lives to help them.  :D

I agree with MF Denise.  Having met you I know what a wonderful person you are and this little boy was so lucky to have spent time with you and your loving family.  Hopefully what he learnt whilst being in your care will remain with him and he will cope with the permanent return to his own family.  Bravo Denise, I take my hat off to you.

On the subject of grandchildren - I had a hope chest full of baby things, gave up hope and gave them all away.  Only then did it happen so be patient and your time will come too.

Thanks so much Judy and MF.  Must admit it has taken me by surprise how emotional I feel now we have an end.  I guess it was to be expected, and I did expect it of my DD's but I thought I was down to earth and I have always fully comprehended he wasn't mine.
Anyway back to thermie.  Has anyone seen the second series of the great british bakeoff.  Looks as good as the first.

Hugs, Denise xx After what you've gone through raising your little guy, of course you'd feel emotional 😢

I hope to be able to cuddle grandkids next time too. That would be truly wonderful. Right now I'm hanging on to my littlest man. 9 going on 40 but still soooo cute. 💗

Coffee sometime soon would be lovely Denise.  :D
Stay strong.
You have done an amazing job and never once complained. Those little ones are so lucky to have had you in their lives.
