I had a lovely day today, went to lunch with friends then we went on to see Geoff.  There was a lady singing country and western type numbers when we arrived so we sat with the residents and enjoyed that for 1/2 hour.  One of the residents just can't help himself when he hears music, he just has to dance so his first partner was the husband of my friend before he grabbed me for a couple of dances.  Whatever makes them happy  ;D

My friend has given up work and loves to be in her kitchen - she bought me sample pots of mango jam, fig jam, tomato relish, 6 eggs from her neighbour's chooks and a small bottle of home-pressed olive oil which another friend of hers makes.

That sounds lovely Judy. We went down to see our almost 92 year old friend on Tuesday and she was at a sing a long too. The music was VERY old fashioned though. I knew quite a few though. We took her out to the verandah and chatted. It must have been sing a long week.

Just because the residents are old, it doesn't mean they have to listen to old time music.  They like something a bit more lively, you should have seen the 94 year old lady moving her hands along with the music.  I noticed there were a lot more at this concert than some of them.

As I missed my walk yesterday morning due to heavy rain, I was determined not to miss it today, even though it was raining when I got up.  DH came with me and only walked about 20 meters before giving up and going back to the car (wimp)  ;D

I actually loved it as it wasn't cold, just soft, light rain.  Did my usual 3.5km, feel really good now.  :D

Congratulations Thermesa I always wanted to be an Aunty and now I'm a great Aunt five times over.
I'm making another quilt at the moment this time for a new arrival in Geraldton Western Australia, (I'm a great Aunt again). Seems pointless to have a quilt in such a warm climate but I usually suggest that they use it for the baby to lie on rather than under.
Something to put on the floor when their kicking their legs or playing.

Congrats Thermesa. I'm celebrating with our small group of friends tonight on our verandah an engagement. Super happy the last of our single friends (been together nine years!). Mango daiquiris, beer and pizza night.

Day off. Have been to see GG (my grandma) this morning before taking DD swimming. School pick up time won't be too far away.

Lucyluu it can be very cold in Geraldton. I grew up inland from there. The quilt sounds lovely.

DD came in the other day and announced that there was going to be an addition to the family. I didn't stress or even become excited. I knew she was up to something. One of our pineapples is having a pineapple.  :D :D. That is very exciting.

Here is the baby.

Lucy, the quilt sounds lovely. We still have the 2 beautiful quilts that my aunt made for eldest son when he was born. One for the floor and one as blankie.

Exciting news for you cookie.  At least you won't have to get up in the middle of the night to feed it. :D

That's a lovely thought Lucy.  I still have the crocheted blankets that were made for my kids when they were born.  I made embroidered woollen blankets for all my GK's when they were born.

We have always planted our pineapple tops and never had any success until we built this house. They seem to like this place. We have had 3 pineapples now we have about 6 growing. Once they have had their baby we take them out. Not at all exciting for those in the tropics but it is for us.
