Good memory Gert. The prize for the winning team was a calf ;)

I don't remember that CC so your memory is better than mine.

I am curious about your sheep DJ as they seem not to have not lot of  wool on them . Amazing they can eat those things . They must be hard as as . Never thought of sheep having to eat such a thing. Interesting.

I remember that punch up CC...
Gert they are Wiltshire horn sheep, they shed their coat annually and it is short and matted and not really wool. Best breed for smallholdings as it is very hard to get shearers for a small flock, almost impossible and our shearing days are over..!
They are also hardy and tougher than some other breeds.

Thanks for the pic of the manglewurzels DJ.

We did see one of them yesterday...driving a flash Merc, texting on his phone  :o Miss 12 said "Mum, there's one of those manglewurzels!"

I really do like that word  ;D

Loving that word too.   ;D

Having a rare day with just DS.  DD's kindy has started back today, but school doesn't start until Feb 3rd.  Very nice, and always so calm with just one kid in the house.

What clever little sheep, very practical.

Are you going to have sheep to milk or just to eat?

Came home from work to a sick DH - summer cold. He must be crook to ring in sick. Apart from his Op last year (he had enough sick leave to have 6 weeks paid leave) he has only had 4 sick days in 15yrs of service.

Even though it's not soup weather that was DH's request for dinner - so roasted tomato soup it is.

O-Oh Mich cut up some onion and get him to slip on a snug pair of socs with onion inside. The onion absorbs the toxins and he should feel fine in no time. (Just read that on Facebook  :D but I would give it a go just to see if it works)

Very interesting pics DJ - those sheep look lovely, and sort of resemble goats.

Mich, hope DH is soon feeling better, nothing worse than a cold in summer.

DJ, love the photos. DH says he remembers the mangelwurzels though they always just called them mangels.  I had never heard of them.  Love the name

Will give it a go CP. DH does love his socks, so think he would be in anything that involves them.  ;D

I love the sheep photos DJ. The mangelwurzles don't really look very appetising. What is on the sheep's ear tag? Do you have different colour tags for different age sheep?
