Leg of lamb is cooking in the slow cooker with lots of garlic and rosemary, the house smells lovely. have never cooked it this way before, not sure what we will have with it, will decide when i get home from work this afternoon.
I child-proofed my house, but they still get in!

Chicken Rendang, steamed rice and vegetables. DH has a batchelor friend coming over who usually eats out alot (all paid for by work, but ends up eating pizza cos he can't be bothered sitting alone in a restaurant/cafe). Think he enjoys coming here and eating a homecooked meal for a change.

Last night we had teninas fetta tart with lemon.. Was quite nice and the night before the speck pizza without speck and our own toppings.. Dh wouldnt shut up about the pizza base.. Loved it.. And super fast so no 1 hr wait for it to rise etc.. Will become a regular in our house.. On the pizza just put a mix of dijon with creme fraiche about 3 to 1 and mixed it as a paste for the base instead of tomato or othervthen put a little emmental and parmesan, some chicken and some more cheese mix... Was basic but yum and i was amazed the kids just gobbled it down... Thanks tenina .. Im finally getting to the. Books after a hectic couple of weeks 😃😃😃

We had sirloin steak, crispy sliced potatoes and salad.  Put a pat of one of Tenina's flavoured butters on top of the steak, mmm delicious - the cheddar butter one.  These rolls are so handy to have in the freezer.

Not bread rolls Kim, the rolls of flavoured butter on page 13 of FFS.  Make them, freeze them then just cut off a little round for whatever purpose you want. Adds flavour without having to do anything extra.

Honey soy chicken drumsticks with steamed veggies.
Followed by sticky date pudding.
DS 16 said it was so good he would be very happy to pay for it :)

Haven't gotten around to making any of the flavoured butters yet.  There are so many things to make from that book, I'm loving it.  ;D

Made a light, lovely salad tonight using a couple of smoked chicken breasts sliced thinly.

I roasted a large beetroot earlier and had slices of that with salad leaves, little wedges of radishes, halved and sliced cucumber, halved cherry toms and thinly sliced red onion.

Very simple but it was exactly what we felt like.  Also made the Vietnamese dressing (Dinner S) to drizzle over.

Served with Hally's version of No Fuss bread to mop up the lovely juices.

I then baked the remaining spiced plum pastry that was in the freezer (Tenina's blog) which finished off the meal perfectly. :D

I haven't had as much time to post on the forum lately. I am trying to avoid wasting so much time when there is so much else to do however I do miss it.

I try and get on to read every now and then.

I am trying quite a few of Quirky Jo's recipes lately and on the menu plan for this week.

Today, however we had Tenina's lemon risotto and garlic prawns.

Had my Varoma demo today so it's leftovers tonight - chickpea soup, and chicken & pumpkin couscous salad, yum! Making some of Isi's rolls to go with it. And there was some batter leftover so will try steaming some lemon coconut puddings in teacups because I don't have small ramekins.
