Title: Another Newbie from Tasmania
Post by: Emme on July 23, 2012, 05:32:57 am
Hello, my name is Marie.  I live in North Eastern Tasmania with DH and our Cairn Terrier named Bonnie.  We have two grown up sons who like to come home as often as they can for some home cooking.  I am 65 and at the moment a new mum to a hmp and baby sitting a thermochef for a friend who is travelling around the country and did not want to leave her machine at home with the housesitters.  I have enjoyed reading your posts on this forum so much and found so much advice and help and I hope to be able to contribute in the future.  I love cooking and have so much to learn about this new method of cooking.  I have purchased Tenina's book For Food Sake and also Quick Fix in the Thermomix by Alyce Alexandra and along with the wonderful recipes on this forum have plenty to keep me out of mischief for some time.  Thank you all for sharing.

Hello Marie, welcome to the forum.  How we would all love to babysit an extra machine for our friends when they go away - people like Cookie and others take theirs with them though  ;D  You have a couple of great books there and with the recipes on this forum, you are set like jelly really.

Thank you for the lovely welcome.
I must be honest and admit I am too scared to use the thermochef incase something happens to it.  I will be pleased when it goes home to its owner in September and I will have my bench space back.  The last time my friend went away she lost her Kenwood mixer when daughter and partner tried making pizza dough and let machine fall on the floor so that is why I have this machine for safe keeping.   She said they could not take it with them as they would be staying at campsites with no electricity.
Bambi, I purchased my copy of Tenina's book from a publisher in WA, have just looked on their website and they have sold out now. Hopefully there will be another reprint soon.
Thanks again everyone
Marie
