the fire is heading south (We are on the north side) but there are several communities the other side who are all getting prepared to leave their properties if need be. I would hate to actually have to leave my house and maybe never get to return.
I will be thinking of them all and praying for good news in the morning.

Yay the fire near us is now under control. So hopefully that's the end of that worry. :)

Finished off Tenina's Malt, now sprouting more wheat for next lot..  Plus shoots are delicious and kids and I ate a heap before we dried them in oven!!  ;D Had green lentil, chorizo and sweet potato soup for lunch.. Cooking a chocolate and zucchini cake now (own adaption  :-\ Verdict later on that one!)  Will do a baguette for dinner, which is left overs...  Stocked up for Tenina's Curried butternut pumpkin soup and tomato and leek soup this week...
Found a great little herb and spice shop on weekend at Coventry Morley Markets..  Got some dried chillies and celery seeds for all of 45c.  All in bulk, plus they sell little plastic containers for 80c too.... Worth a look.  Had essences too I noticed...

In Melb all day , no dinner tonight as we went to Chinese cafe for lunch.  Playing around with a rice pudding in the TMX.  Will post if OK.  I only look at this site every 3/4 days as I can't stand the sight of all the beautiful photos/ food.

I was at work all day but DH cooked up some home made dog food with beef heart, rolled oats, carrots and some other things (I think) to cheer up our pup with a broken leg - so miserable cooped up in a plaster cast. He gobbled a big bowlful (pup, not DH !) so it's a winner.

Did make feta and oregano muffins yesterday, thought they were rather bland but DS 21 came home with 2 mates and 9 vanished in a matter of minutes, so no waste there  ;)

After being in Perth all weekend and at work all day today all I could manage was a chicken and pea risotto.

I did make pikelets on Friday morning as fuel for Saturday's Rottnest Channel Swim.

Made Cashew chicken for tonight's dinner, will cook rice & steam vegies in TMX later to go with it. I have Granola in the oven at the moment from QFITT, smells good.

finished up making the goats milk cheese (took a day longer than expected cos I forgot to do it yesterday, but now it needs to be refrigerated for 48 hours to allow the flavours to infuse), stewed plums, banana & coconut bread, & chookies my favourite quiche for dinner.

Clever you with the cheese CP. Not a lot going on here today. I'm going to make a fruit cake and I'm thinking of putting bananas in it as I have a few squishy ones.

With the help of GS today, we made Dan's brownies with macadamia nuts instead of walnuts, I did tuna corn casserole for our lunch and we have just made DG's Baked Bean cases from this thread for GS to take home to his big sister for her lunchbox.
