I made tuna salad for lunch today...  Really, just wanted to play with my TM.  I was surprised there was no recipe in the cook books.  Is tuna salad popular in Oz?  I'd say it's 2nd to peanut butter and jelly here...

You can find the recipe and more pics HERE

Tuna salad isn't huge here as far as I know.  At least not in our house!
I sometimes use it in sandwiches or open a tin for tuna mornay or tuna patties.
Anyone else fond of tuna?

I often open a can of 'flavoured' tuna to have with a salad for my lunch. eg sundried tomato and tuna, smoked tuna. I don't think I would have plain tuna very often.
I sometimes use tinned tuna in a mornay type of thing for a main meal. I find it hard to buy fish near us that hasn't been imported. Fortunately we spend a month or so each year at Monkey Mia (Shark Bay) fishing and occasionally we catch some to put in the freezer for the next month or so at home.  I think having that lovely fresh fish to eat up there spoils most bought fish for us.
Sorry-slightly off the tuna topic.

I've never seen "flavored" tuna....  Here, it's just canned tuna..  Interesting.

Warren, I believe some of our tuna processors were losing money several years ago and they came up with the idea of adding things to a tin of tuna to make it more popular.  It's mainly only the small tins that you would use for lunch.  There's chilli, vinagrette, lemon and heaps of others. I think it saved a couple of the companies from going bankrupt.

i eat tuna salad a lot - but it's not the american idea of tuna salad with a creamy dressing and a little celery etc - it's a tin of flavoured tun on a big bowl of fresh rocket, and whatever other salad goodies i can find :)

jeff, that sounds divine!

I'm still being very lazy so I made pizza dough tonight and we had smoked salmon pizza and potato and rosemary pizza.

Seem to recall that some of the family are not mushroom lovers?  If they are OK with mushies then I can give you a couple of recipes.

I'd love to see those recipes...  I've only made polenta once, and didn't find it to be worth the effort.  Of course, that was PTM  (pre Thermomix).

TM - none of us are! lol we eat small amounts but we don't eat mushroom dishes as such.  thanks anyway :)

UC - i've been having mine as a sweet breakfast - 1 banana, 45g polenta and 160g milk (this makes it really thick, not runny at all so you may want more, or you can add it later like you do with porridge). cook for 7-7:30 mins on 90'c speed 4
