Pear and Gorgonzola Risotto (with photo)

Name of Recipe: Pear and Gorgonzola Risotto

Ingredients:

60g onion, quartered
30g extra virgin olive oil
350g Carnaroli rice
50g white wine
800g boiling water
1 tbsp Thermomix vegetable concentrate
200g gorgonzola,diced
200g pear, diced
30g butter (I haven't used any butter)

Optional: Grated parmesan & pear slices to decorate

Preparation:
    * Chop onion for 5 seconds on Speed 7. Clean down the sides of TM Bowl with spatula
    * Add oil and saute for 3 minutes at 100ºC on Speed 1
    * Add rice and cook for 3 minutes at 100ºC on Reverse / Speed 1
    * Add wine. Cook for 1 minute at 100ºC on Reverse / Speed 1. (with Measuring Cup OFF)
    * Add boiling water and TM veggie concentrate. Cook for 11 minutes at 100ºC on Reverse / Speed 1
    * Add diced pear and gorgonzola. Cook for 2 minutes at 100ºC on Reverse / Speed 1
    * Transfer it into a bowl, add butter and mix
    * Serve into the plates. Decorate with pear slices

risotto was going to be on the menu this week, now its this one!!! sounds so yummy, cant wait to try it.

just made this, added some walnuts too, very tasty, i cut down the gorgonzola by half though, thought it may be a bit strong for us. i also took some rissotto out before i added cheese for the toddlers, i will give them a taste of it but just in case they dont like it i will have something to give them!

Adding walnuts is a great idea Nicky!
There is a pasta sauce which I make with gorgonzola, milk cream and walnuts. They match very well
I always use "Gorgonzola dolce" which is sweeter
If you like Gorgonzola taste 200g is not much. If you need a more subtle taste mixing it with Philadelphia could be another idea

thats a great idea with the cream cheese. my dd 3yrs even prefered the blue cheese one, gobblling up her whole bowl  over the plain one. thanks farfallina.

wow! I don't hear often about a 3yrs who likes blue cheese!
