Title: Honey Snap Biscuits
Post by: achookwoman on September 23, 2010, 09:26:03 am
Honey Snap Biscuits.
These are similar to the Malt biscuits. I made 36 Biscuits for less than $2! They are crisp and have a nice Honey flavor.

130g. butter.
90g. raw sugar.Plus extra.
1 rounded Tablespoon of honey.
1 rounded Tablespoon of condensed milk.
1 cup of S.R. flour 130g

Set oven 180c. FF

Place sugar in bowl and grind to a fine powder, about 1 min. on speed 7. Scrape down sides.
Add softened butter, and cream 4 mins at speed 3. Scrape down sides.
Add condensed milk and honey, speed 3 , 2 mins.
Add flour, and mix on REVERSE, speed 3 for 30 seconds.

Using a small icecream scoop, (3cm.) put small mounds onto lined baking trays.
With a glass with a flat base, dip glass into sugar and then onto each Biscuit.

If you wish, you can press an almond in to each biscuit.

Bake 15 mins. Cool on trays for 5 mins and then on wire rack.

PamH - Made a batch of these and they are very yummy and so easy to make, these will be a regular. Thanks for the recipe achookwoman, trying to get some malt to try that recipe as well!!

JD - Made a batch of these, thanks Chookie they are just how I like my biscuits.  My oven runs pretty hot though so will be checking on them from 12 minutes onwards next time.  Forgot to do the sugar coating before baking but did add some flaked almonds to the top.

mimimaree - I just wanted to say, what a great recipe. I made a double batch of this, I added an extra 2 tabs of sweetened condensed milk and swapped the honey with golden syrup. Tasted awesome and made so many biscuits.  Thanks achookawomen.

Yum I have a batch of sultana biscuits just come out of the oven. These will have to wait a day or two.

Good one Chookie.  I get upset when MrsT spends heaps on biscuits that we could easily make at home.  Think I will give her some lessons.

They sound  great and so cheap!  :-* :-* :-* :-*

Good thinking JD.   I made some of these with lemon.   Same recipe and method,   only reduce the honey to 1 teaspoonful and add the grated rind and juice of I lemon and a little more flour.  The amount of flour will depend on how much juice is in the lemon.

Thanks Chookie, a very versatile recipe.  Guess you could sub orange zest/juice instead of the lemon too?

I am going to try these now. I don't have any sweetened condensed milk so am going to try without and see what happens.
thanks for sharing the recipe and photo!

OMG YUMMO! That looks fantastic, thank you. My problem is trying not to eat it straight before it gets to a recipe.
