I made these as cupcakes this morning. Such a quick easy delicious recipe. I cheated with the icing and used a store bought chocolate one...

It's in the oven and I'm excited - put my Crio Bru grounds in too, just for fun, and left out half of the cocoa.

Made this for DS4 racetrack birthday cake and can I say wow. After many dry choc cakes over the years, this one was perfect. Will not use another recipe from now on. Have also made Maddy's vanilla version for cupcakes and they were great too. Thank you for this recipe.

I made this on the weekend in my new tin from Ikea
http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/30191852/

The cake is great (so my DS and DH say anyway) but the tin is a disappointment - we could hardly see the heart imprints at all  :-[

How sad, they would look lovely if they came out. Very disappointing.

I know Cookie, DS was very dissapointed as it was him who chose the tin. I might try a butter cake and see if that make a difference.

I tried johnro's Banana Cake,Magic Bean cake and a carrot cake.I think the imprints are too fine and a bad design.I just use it now if I need a ring tin.

It's not a very good photo as It doesn't show off the impressions of the lovely Cookie Cake tins by Nordic. :-\
I made it for a friend I'm seeing tomorrow at my upholstery class. It's her birthday on Friday. ;) She needs cheering up as she's going through a rough time at the moment as her DH is very ill.
