prolly wrong place for this but I am trying to put a picture up - I got an error message saying picture too large had to be 500kb or there abouts. So I shrink the pic and now its saying too large pic has to be 200kb??
what am I doing wrong?
-
auds make it smaller it will work , i changed my settings on my camera , so much easier this way
-
I change my size using the 'paint' option and the forum will not accept it if it is not under 256 KB so I usually reduce it to 20%.
I see you have put a photo of your kitchen up, was this the one you were trying to post - if so, you have succeeded ;)
-
yup that was it - great thanks all
-
Yeah each photo has to be less that 256k and the combined total of photos attached cant be over 512k.
On the Mac, if the pic was exported to large from iPhoto then I open it in the Preview app and resize it to 800x600 and that usually reduces the file size enough.

Hi guys. I tried to upload a photo today and the attach file button is completely grey'd out? I can't even click on it?? Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong?
-
lisa have you tried log in off then back in
-
When you click on 'additional options' Lisa , do you get this
-
Hi Judy. When I click additional options the button next to the word attach is grey'd out. Maybe because I'm using an iPad? I'll try tomorrow on my box monster computer and see what happens :)
-
Ah, iPad, not up with that. Did you see Meagan's posting here (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=320.6420) about iPad and photos, scroll down to the bottom, you can't miss her photo ;D

I actually use photobucket on the big computer and on my netbook. I upload them from either the camera or the SD stick and keep them in an album callled thermomix. (drr-easy to find). Then when I want to post them here I just click on the photo, a list drops down below it, click and copy the bottom line. Come back to the forum and click paste where you want it. Then check using preview that it shows. In the reply message it just comes up with the link, not the photo.
It's as clear as mud. Sorry.

I'm not seeing any of the above and would like to post a photo or 2 on the Christmas tree and kitchen threads.
-
Firstly mcmich, have you put the pictures from your camera onto your computer yet? Let's start from there.
-
Okay I'm following you for this one JD. I'm hoping to put up a photo of my cooking this week and was going to go looking for a thread to read. I'm all ears (or should that be eyes?) when you're ready. I will be taking photos tomorrow so hoping to follow your instructions.
-
I'm not the best one for instructions Twitterpated, others do it so much better than me and everyone seems to do something different. It is the hardest thing to explain to everyone because we are all using different cameras, different computers if you know what I mean.
-
I do know JD. I read your post on inserting a hyperlink and it made perfect sense to me so I thought that we must be on the same wavelength. Just have to see how it goes I spose.
-
Have a read of this (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=191.0) thread and see if you can grasp what they mean guys!
-
Will pm you the instructions I have sent others Twitterpated :) :)
-
Thanks Johnro. I'll have a read and will give it a go. Not making any promises though. ;D
I have the camera ready to take to work to take photos once they are all plated up. I'll try and upload them so you can see what I have been up to. Like you I am now sick of the kitchen and need a little break.
-
I've done it Johnro!!!! And it worked!!!!!
-
How exciting Twitterpated - Robyn you are a little gem. Off to look for your photos Twitterpated.
-
Your resulting pics are great Twitterpated - welll done, another task mastered!!! (http://www.animated-gifs.eu/emoticons-christmas/0026.gif)
