I popped into Aldi when I did my grocery shopping. Hey presto they had the Roti Makers. I bought one and DH has had a play.

I am back-tracking a bit here - Chookie, did you ever use that jackfruit?

Marina, I haven’t used it yet.  Glad it’s got a long useby date.  I actually saw a hamburger recipe today that looked ok.

Just thought I would let you know I have reduced my spatulas to $12 plus postage.   I use them every day in my thermies,

Thanks Robyn. I imagine it would be very handy. I’m scared of pressure cookers- I’m a chicken.

Me too cookie. That’s because I opened Mum’s when I was a kid and the chicken soup with pearl barley went everywhere!  I was more worried about it being on the ceiling and walls than what went on me but I don’t remember being told off.

Mum had soup go over walls and ceilings a few times too Judy. She even burnt herself once. I’m happy to go without one. 😀😀

At this stage of my life I wouldn’t even consider one cookie.

I also don’t want a pressure cooker of any sort.  I have more of a slow cook inclination. I have just spent the last 2 hours reading about fermentation.

I had a pressure cooker when the children were young and I was working and it always frightened me.  I brought it with me when we shifted and it is hiding in the back of a cupboard, I should get rid of it as I will never use it again.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

I am glad I am not the only one wary of pressure cookers.  I had one a long time ago and I was OK with it. I bought a new one several years ago and, like many of you, I am also too scared to use it, I just don't trust it for some reason.  I use the pot for cooking stews or soups, but don't put the lid on.

But they are so fast. I have the Nu Wave electric one, but this new one cooks start to finish in 30 minutes in the microwave.. Just love it.

You are right about the speed at which they cook, Obbie, I especially liked them for cooking beans, etc., but I am, nonetheless, still wary, which is a shame, but that is the way of it.
