Gert, what is the secret with the stainless steel soap? Picked up silver casings to make Chookie's Portuguese tarts...now to find time to make them!

Use it like soap to remove smells from your hands like onion and garlic. It DOES NOT work for chilie.

You could also  use those stainless steel scrubbers or rub your hands on the sink but the bar is smooth  and clean. Not expensive and makes a nice gift.

Stupid question but I presume you use water at the same time Gretchen.  I bought one home for sister-in-law too seeing as she sat with Geoff all day.

Didn't I say somewhere there are no stupid questions on this forum!! Doesn't,t matter but yes it is easier to slide around if your hands are wet.

You can keep it on the top shelf of the dishwasher too to help eliminate the smells in there between washes.

.it is amazing how many smells you can get rid of.

Thanks Gretchen.  I already have the s/steel scrunchy whatsits in my dishwasher that you also told us about.  Everyone who comes here goes home with a couple to hang in theirs too so I am getting the message out there. I don't know about the dishwasher smelling fresh, haven't put my head in there to smell it but the dishes certainly do seem to come out sparkling more.

I bought a heap back from Singapore last year and gave them to friends. I don't think they believe me about how good they are.

This is the stainless steel scouring pad that Gretchen said could be placed in the dishwasher - you could use the stainless steel bar but this is the cheaper option.

Not steel wool Kim, that will rust.

That SS scouring pad would end up with lots of bits of food in it?
