My GF on my Fathers side died the year I was born so I don't remember him. My GM died when I was young and my memories of her was that she was stricked and would smack our fingers if we touched anything we shouldn't :(, but I remember her making the best cup of tea for me that I'm sure had 3 or 4 teaspoons of sugar in it and cooking the best family meals :).
My other grandparents were wonderful loving people. My pop had a great sense of humor, and my nan gave the best cuddles. I'm glad I have my memories of these special people.

Had a lovely day, even though it's sooooo cold here in Victoria.  Wandering around the wineries hosting the shortest lunch  weekend in the Yarra Valley this weekend.  Makes you rather proud to be part of such a lovely part of OZ!  Great music, wine and food but feeling rather sleepy now haha!

Both my grandparents of my father's side died when I was young too, Mandi. I have been told that I wouldn't have wanted to know my GF on that side though, apparently he wasn't a very nice man. My GM on that side had quite bad demetia before she died, so I could never sustain a good relationship with her. When she died my father didn't even tell me. My mum showed me the notice for her funeral in the local newspaper.
But like you, my mum's parents are a completely different story. I'm really glad you have special memories of yours. Those memories get us through bad times ;)

Oh I hate lambing time.....hubby brings in the half alive lambs born through the night, and tries to warm them up by the fire....it's very sad  :( poor little things, but sometimes after a few hours they can bounce back.  The cat is so cute...he sits beside them  :)
.........EAT CAKE!

Can't seem to be bothered doing anything today.
Had a good week with the food and wine show and high tea yesterday.
DH has taken his daughter to the movies so I might kick back and watch some TV.

I really am a bit of a wet blanket today.
Maybe some online shoping will put a spring back in my step.

Haha! Like your 'tude Gert.

I had a fairly unproductive day as I went back to bed after a sleepless night and didn't get up until lunchtime!

Off to a lunch today to celebrate a friend's DH's 60th, so should be fun.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

Lol, so far DH hasn't brought any lambs home. But I bet that won't last. Wonder what our new kitten (cat) will think of that? :D

Why?

'cos I feel guilty if I am not doing things Gert.  I did move myself to cook a nice lunch and am about to go off to do my food shopping.
