Title: Happy Greetings from Malaysia
Post by: Chris-Nekkhammaruci on April 22, 2014, 05:57:21 am
:D  Hi Everyone,  I am Christina from Malaysia.  I bought my Thermomix in Jan 2014 and started to use just before our Chinese New Year this year and it was ok until last month that I experienced electric shocks a few times when using it.  Wonder what is the cause of it?  Anyone can help?

Hello Christina, welcome to the forum.  I've not heard of that problem before, have you tried a different power outlet?  I'd speak to the person who sold you the machine and have it checked out by an authorised TMX technician.

Hi

Cookie1  & Judydawn  :  Thank you for your attention.  I have contacted d HQ n they r asking me to send the unit back to them for checking.  I might do that n I will be missing my thermomix as I found it to be very useful esp when I am making bread n man tou.  Beside this problem I am enjoying using this unique machine since day one.

Judydawn :  I hv tried many outlets in my house n all gave me the same problem but my power point did not "trip" when I experiencing the "shocks".

Christina, it is interesting that the shocks you are receiving aren't tripping the power. Hopefully it will only be a minor problem.
Please let us know when you find out, in case it happens to anyone else.

Hi Everyone Here,

Just for quick note of what is happening after my first post in this forum ::

My consultant has arranged someone to collect my thermie just a few hours ago and her upline over here said that he wants to take a look into this unit first before sending it up to Kuala Lumpur for "inspection".  What frustrated me is that they keep telling me that my body emit out the electric shocks to the thermie instead and there is nothing wrong with the machine.

BTW, I kept on testing the machine by using it to make my dinners and snacks.  Just a few days ago I got the shocks after completed the cooking (Pumpkin Sago Dessert & different day  Mango Sago Dessert).   And this is the last draw that I could take and email the HQ and pm my consultant.

I just couldn't afford to take the chances and insist that they take back the machine for "medical checkup" instead of me ending in the box.  I don't know what to expect after they take a "look" into the machine.

Note :  Day One = 09 May 2014

Hi and Welcome to the Forum Chris.  This whole thing must be very frustrating for you - not to mention the time that you will now be without your Thermomix while it is being checked out. I do hope they manage to sort the problem out soon for you.

Hi All

Just to update those have been following my "stories"  -  HQ has found no faulty parts on my thermie and to make long story short... I had my house electrical rewired yesterday just to avoid being electrocuted when using the machine.  Have yet to test the thermie yet and my thermix has returned home a few days ago. Just hope that the source of problem is from my house wiring...

I hope so too as that would have been quite expensive.

Hi  Cookie :   Yes I know rewiring could cost a bomb here and my electrician did checking and said instead of rewiring, he has done "earthing" and a minimum rewiring  and save me around RM7k.  It took him two days to do the jobs and I added two wall sockets near my work station for easy access to my thermie.

Now I happy to announce that so far no electrifying happen as I just use my thermie to prepare tonite's dinner.. ;D

Hi Judydawn  :  Yeah I know i took an extreme measure but I so desperate to solve the problem but now I am happy to say that my electrician managed to do a minimum rewiring and added "earthing" for the whole house and helped me save RM7k and I just spent RM1k instead....very happy.

BTW  just cooked dinner with thermie, recipe from Quirky Cooking...very nice...a dish that I tweaked a bit - Vegetarian  Nacho Topping with Kidney Beans ...added chicken (leftover), 1 can of mixed beans, peri-peri and instead of poached eggs I fried the eggs.  So now I look forward to experiment more and more recipe from this site and other related thermomix recipes...  thanks for all the kind words and encouragement...

Hi Chris - It's really good news that you have your TMX back with you . . . and it sounds as though it might have been a bit of a blessing in disguise that this whole episode has prompted you to have your electricity supply checked out.  Electricity is a wonderful servant but a dangerous master!!  Wonderful now that you can now be exploring all the great food that can be prepared in the tmx!! :D

It most certainly does GF, there you go Chris - the Thermomix working it's wonders in a different way.  Now on with the cooking without fear.

Title: Thermomix gives electric shock
Post by: julie lee on August 01, 2016, 05:05:18 am
Hi everyone! I am also from Malaysia and my Thermomix has also been giving me electric shock whenever I touch the metal pot. So I am alwasy very careful not to touch the pot whenever I use it. I have been using it for many years now although not very regularly. Recently, my mom came and used it and then insisted that I call the Thermomix supplier to have it checked. Anyone else has this problem? I am wondering if I need to rewire as well....hmm..

I would think Julie Lee you need an electrician to test your electricity outlets and supply into your house. I have never had a shock from my TM in all the years I have owned one.I hope you get it sorted soon.
