Bangers and mash cooked by DH and was very yummy.

Made a Penang Nyonya favourite for dinner, Otak-otak. Barramundi in steamed spicy egg custard. The aroma of the sambal and kaffir lime leaves was so delicious and comforting :)

Pretty sure this dish is unknown in OZ. It's a delicacy from a very unique group of folks in colonial parts of Malaysia, with a rich tradition in food, architecture and culture.

Got the recipe from a Nyonya cookbook and technique from the Malaysian TMX book.

wow bzb you cook some amazing dinners,  Malaysian food certainly is delicious when my parents friend visits she always cooks for us ;D;D

Dh and I are trying to eat more fish  :-X YUK. We bought some orange roughy and I marinated it and cooked in the oven. The fish was looked good but really tasted fishy - I particularly asked for a non fishy fish.

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D . . nothing worse than fishy fish, Mich!!  My favourite fish when I can get it is ling - or steamed salmon . . .love those two.  I eat a lot of fish now as I still don't dare try any more red meat thanks to that allergic reaction I had a while back (dr thinks a reaction to a particularly nasty tick bite).  Fish curries are good, too. . .

What would you recommend as a very non fishy fish GF? We have had NZ blue cod that was lovely.

Indian feast for us tonight - lamb vindaloo, butter chicken, chicken tikka, curried vegetabes, naan, rice and raita. Tasted great.

Made chicken tom yam, chicken meatballs in tomato-based sauce, steamed cabbage and rice.

Dessert for this chilly evening: Warm homemade Tau Foo Fa (a silky smooth pudding) from yesterday's soya bean milk. Drizzled some palm sugar syrup to sweeten it.
